Manly player Keith Titmuss dies after training

It's alarming that this has happened due to training.

It's would a tough rapid diagnosis for the medical crew onsite as you need to treat quickly to stand a chance, but I dare say that it's going to be firmly on the radar now of all club's medical crew.

Thank god we have our COE which, god forbid, would be well-equipped to deal with this if it occurs.

I was in Egypt many years ago super hot around 50 degrees all the time I spent there I was drinking plenty of fluids in the day just water and tea and was thinking about getting heat stroke it never happened then year's later a function for Bankers Trust in Tunks park Cammeray warm day driving there Michael Hutchence had died from INXS on the radio got home in the afternoon felt ok 3 hours later in hospital with heat stroke stayed the night was never thinking about it and I ended up in hospital

It's just come out that Keith Titmuss the Manly player who passed away in 2020 died of excessive heat stroke. If true the family should be taking the strongest form of legal action against the club with the help of the RLPA.
It's disgusting that players are pushed to that limit without protocols I'm place to monitor for this

Anyone who lost a family member or close friend to this would be devastated and seeking answers

It's a big concern when the real fitness training commences during the hottest part of the year. Definitely needs some regulation guidelines for players welfare in place pronto so this never happens again

I’m not sure but on game days do they weigh them before they run out and make them drink water to get back to the same weight at half time
Don’t know where I’ve heard this but if it’s true you’d think they do this sort of thing when hot preseason

Would definitely think a lawsuit would be forthcoming. The family has lost it's major source of income for up to a decade, due to unsafe workplace conditions and reckless management. They deserve compensation (unless it's proven that the medics and coaches were instructing him to take it easy and he chose to keep pushing harder and harder).

Workcover includes potential criminal penalties for senior leaders at employers for this type of thing too.

reading that article there’s plenty of areas to flag and investigate
Seems odd that they treated perrett appropriately but not Titmuss
