2024 Pre-Season

Yep. Saw him single handedly turn games on their head too many times. Sure stuffed things up too - risk doesn't always bring reward - but the Wests Tigers was a joy to follow during that period. Just never knew what was going to happen next, but when it did it was glorious and that was all on the back of BM.
Woke up genuinely excited on game days mate.

2012 rings a bell off the back of two strong years. 2013 surprises me but I’ll take your word. What about all the other years, probably not even considered among the top half of the comp by most. We all know you can get some tasty odds on the Tigers this time of year.
I think I got it wrong . It was 11 and 12 , and we shat the bed in 12

No way were we favourites in 13. We were closer to Wooden Spoon favourites in 13.
Yea it was 11 and 12 . I was misremembering , and then I remembered 13 was the “fat Benji “ year , Auckland blues , brooks debut etc . Was a top of the head reaction . I should have done some cross checking first . My bad .

And went home beyond disappointed a good deal also...

I'll never forget getting absolutely pumped at the SCG in 2010 when we were a top 4 side,
Buy Souths (Who didn't even make the 8)

Glass half empty mate. That same year I was there when we were a bees dick from beating the premiers in a prelim. Disappointed was an understatement but boy, it was nice to feel something other than anger watching your team play.

Disagree, look a mid table team to me. Seibold an expert of getting teams to under perform - I’ll take the under on the project wins
Manly with Turbo(s)/DCE are probably the modern equivalent of Tigers with Benji/Robbie.

If they are there and fire, hard to write them off.

Was there as well...
All the possession, All down in good ball....
Came up with nothing!!
Let em off the hook cheap over and over...

Didn't even look to be thinking Field Goal.

I would always argue my favourite Tigers players of all time (Balmain & Wests Tigers) were Wayne Pearce & Ellery Hanley. Loved watching both play.

Then Benji came along.

My one Benji story that I recall- his return to the Tigers. He wasn't supposed to play. Then Josh Reynolds pulls out & Benji comes in &.....I got emotional.

He IS Wests Tigers.

And if anyone can turn the fortunes of this club, it's him. I'm certain of it.

Yes he was. He was named on the bench. I do remember the roar when for him during the team announcement pre-game. Goosebumps.

As the video also features Adam Doueihi, I thought it was more appropriate to post in this thread.

The one thing I must say about this offseason is the club deserves some praise for their PR management.
We've won back-to-back spoons and underwent an administration cleanout, however most of the media attention has been rather positive.
Our players seem to all be on the same page and our youth are getting some media training in - additional to Behind the Roar we finally got to read a Lachlan Galvin article where he's actually quoted in and it's not just another opinion piece. This kind of exposure is valuable for our youth, helping them cultivate crucial communication and interview skills essential for an NRL career.
We still have a very young squad and the media spotlight isn't going away. Therefore, the lack of bad press and control of media narrative should support their preparation and negate some distractions. Despite unavoidable external pressures, particularly from the media, equipping them with tools to manage these hurdles is vital. Guided by strong leaders like Koroisau and Klemmer, our squad should be more ready to overcome obstacles

I don't like excessive media hype; it creates more pressure. However, the club is building an environment for our players to thrive in and maximise their potential. So in a season filled with many unknowns and new challenges, this focus on positive development bodes well for our team IMO as it means they can concentrate on the year ahead. 🤞the club can stay on top it.

There’s no vendetta against Richo/ respect for him . It goes a long way I think . There’s still the passive aggressive fox articles , and the obviously “you done my mate wrong” gibberish from the mole , but yea it’s been a good change that’s for sure
