Justin Olam #281

I have said it for 6mths now, just hope we did due diligence on Olam on/off field.

His body has been hammered & overtime that has a toll normally turns into abit glass like.

It’s rare once the body shows the wear it recovers and lets a player go back to how they use to be.
It’s about management and merely judging by the smile on his face, Benji’s the right guy for his headspace.

It's all hypothetical, dont think Olam is banged
up by taking tough carriers. Hasn't really got
a history with injuries besides the broken forearm
(unlucky) & the knee issue last year. He's running
around unabated pretty much, should be aright...
What’s this crap about his body failing?

Are there guys in here that actually pay so much attention to that facet besides @Tucker

He had a broken forearm AND knee issue in the early stages of last year. Look at his playing style and you understand the risks, he would too - let the coaching staff make excuses.

Their is an element of management and expectations as well. If the body starts cracking in league it’s very hard at his age to get improvement from it.

Let’s see how it goes, if his body holds up and he is happy he will be great addition for us - hope it’s a resounding success for us.

I still think we are on the look out for an AFB type enforcer, just a tier down. We certainly need an experienced head that will come off the bench and play that role like Zane Tetavano did for the Panthers or Martin Tapau for the Broncos.
Who that is I’m not sure. But it’s kinda laughable but Joe Offehengue would of fit the mould.
Let me rephrase that. Joffa could have fitted that role; though he doesn’t seem to want to embrace that.
Prehaps RFM would be a good pick up if we offload Noffa?
Yes we need someone.

No, not Joe Ofanague. Look, he put in but we were still 16th with him in the side. Unlike 2022 when he was in our front bench, we did not move backwards and get pommled.

I also know it's not all Joe O's fault. But far our the fandom behind the guy is redicous. We came last in part due to him and as a Senior forward he did not perform to NRL standard.

We need to look to better forwards. People who consistently thump for their club.
We haven't got AFB, but we can keep an eye out. Build a strong pack with guys like Klemmer, Bateman and people of NRL standards. Work out why Paps did not lift in our squad and either lift him or punt him.

Lets set a high bar, no more fan fav's.

I've been saying the same for months that he's used his body as a weapon... I was always worried about his fitness... But more recently have tried to be more positive about this signing, I was certain they wouldn't bring on a broken center
I'm back to how I initially felt... I wonder what other injuries he's got?
Telling they didn't mention it

I’ve just done that mate, scroll up ^

Runs like a bowling bowl and had a poorly managed broken forearm by Melbourne as a club.

Even said the boys have helped him settle already, I’d be surprised if he doesn’t inflict several injuries on our oppo

Enjoy...

Dumbest question of the year to date “4 teams playing in Vegas in a few years do you think the Tigers would like to do that”

Like seriously that journalist (well he will call himself one) should be punted for that Q.

Aside from that Olam answered the Qs well.

There is going to have be a monumental turn around for Olam to get close to the player he was in 2022. Of all the new inclusions he is the one I will be watching with most interest. Not convinced he can find it anymore.
