Jayden "Bud" Sullivan #278

Let's be realistic.

A few months back everyone on this forum was close to ejaculating over the idea of signing Trindall from the Sharks.

Sullivan has a better resume than Trindall. And he's already signed on.

There are always going to be those unhappy with whoever is in our squad.

I bet the Dragons are wishing they hadn't let him go now.

Speaking of Trindall, I expect the comparisons in Bud's game to the former Trindall (Darryl) to become evident as we watch him play. He's that kind of player.

Extremely talented player when he’s switched on and focused.
Similar style of player to Scott Prince.

Doesn’t seem that sharp when interviewed and will be required to make sharp decisions.

In and out of FG at Stgeorge.

Seems a bit off the cuff rather than structured, sound familiar?

It was bound to happen with anyone we signed. People have even whipped themselves into a frenzy over a journeyman like Sezar. Emotions tend to usually be either at zero or a hundred.

As did AD and a bunch of others.

I really have to wonder if it is the Wests Tigers or the players not bringing out the potential. I have only seen 1 player live beyond their hype and that's Bula. Before that, Matterson surpassed the hype around us signing him.

Everyone else has been a let down or a real dissapointment
 
I have to wonder what on earth Jayden is thinking now.

Hoping it's "lock down NR7 spot at Tigers".

Because I can see exactly what is going to happen with our cap. Jayden come 2025 is likely to be a $500k paperweight, if he doesn't outperform Luai and Fainu.

I get that being "on again/off again" at St George wrecked this player. Hopefully Benji manages this well as we could use a Gun Center OR a X factor off the bench (be that Sullivan or Fainu).

Yep , even more so with Amone now go for the next couple of seasons . Pretty insane to swap Sullivan for Flanagan , even if you have rose coloured glasses towards your own kid .
Has anyone seen the Raiders halves … yikes! I counted only 2 when I looked yesterday .And with the Dargan tragic passing , wow they are in real trouble .
I mean when we lost Fotu tragically , I honestly think that was the catalyst to what is now “wests tigers” as a brand . It’s going to be an elephant in the room for a long time . I wish all the raiders/ south’s people who are feeling it all the best .

Raiders have Fogarty, Weekes, Strange ... Kris if it gets to that.
 
People would have killed to be in this position only 6 months ago regarding halves and lack of.
We had Wakeham and Laurie as our halves pair and we all know what happened.

Top clubs have good back up halves and I don't see this as a problem as all. It's good comp and keeps players on their toes.

Also, the biggest plus is that IF we get Luai and he gets a halves partner locked down it is very easy to offload halves compared to a winger like Nofo. People need to settle down on this as it's a good thing.

What requires correction , from you ? Hes not a 6 . Hence my point about thier halves being awful if he’s signed as a 6 . So what’s your point ? Are you arguing ?
 
For 2024 if we dont get Luai then I hope he partners Fainu in the halves
if we sign Luai for 2025 and Fainu goes well as a 6
Then Sullivan will be a 500k half playing plenty of reserve grade.
The club should be giving TDS his shot on the bench not Sullivan
