Lachlan Galvin #277

Galvin needs a season in KOE Cup, sitting on the bench for most of the season will stunt and damage his growth as a future NRL player. Latu Fainu should be well above him in terms of starting this year.
Remember the Rorters bled young Sam Walker in top side at 18 .. and he was so tiny and looked like a twig (still does) .. I thought that just catching the ball was going to snap him .. the old adage .. if you're good enough .. you're old enough to play .. in saying that that's why i want to see Latu Fainu in the side come round 2 .. !!

Walker didn’t go straight from schoolboy to NRL.
He progressed rapidly but still proved his capability in lower grades.

Yes but he was a solo young bloke coming into a very strong experienced lineup we don't have that luxury,we have to bleed more inexperienced players than other clubs into our lineup. It is a very difficult juggling act unfortunately

I feel like already Galvin will create more points at 6 than bud, and every game he will get better real quick.

I'd put him there for our first game lol. Or at least bench spot, surely.

It's not like he would be worse in defence than Benji when he started

Latu Fainu is the one. he's the best defender out of all three and can create points out of nothing. the most disappointing thing is that the other two have a head start on him.

So people have to realise Fainu will not play in round 2, and possibly not round 3 either. He hasn't played a game yet this off season. He's not going to be making his nrl debut after having not played a match for 6 months. He will definitely start in NSW Cup and get some match fitness and form.

IMHO, TDS should be 14 if he is not injured.
Api is our captain and best player, and is capable of playing the full 80 more often than not. Having TDS at 14 is a waste, he needs to be playing 80 mins every week, not 5-10 mins. His development would seriously be weakened playing him at 14 in the NRL.

Is it me or does he seem to lack some pace
He's not a young JAC or Saab type, no, but he's as fast or faster than Kepaoa, Nofoluma, Tupou, Feledy etc. If they could play in the back so can he.

He's also a LOT more skillful than any of those players.

Our squad has a serious lack of pace and this comes down to years of terrible recruitment and retention.

He probably doesn't but the way I'm looking at it is if the management Sezer is providing offers nothing then might as well back the flair of youngsters. It's a lot easier to take the bad with the good when it's young talent. It's hard to take the bad with seasoned players.

Also, I never subscribed to the theory you need one experienced half. I've always believed young halves can be more confident getting involved when partnered with another youngster. They feed off each other and have fun.
Sezer can kick, and pass. Things that Sullivan has yet to prove, his kicking in the Warriors trial was atrocious while he was also very poor against the dragons.

Sezer was one of our best v the Wahs. He will 100% be starting 7 in round 2, injuries permitting.

I’m sure Sezer will be selected to start as our 7 in round 2, but if we are being fair dinkum his kicking game against the Dragons in Mudgee was no better than Luke Brooks.
If he cannot drastically improve our kicking game, he’s not much good to us.

he has no choice to start in Cup. wouldn't surprise me if you see him named to play for Flegg this week and let him build some confidence and match fitness there before moving to Cup the week after. no doubt in my mind though that he makes his NRL debut at some point this year though. he's still my pick to partner Luai at the scrumbase, despite Marshall and Richardson's love for Galvin.

I think people exaggerate how much marshall loves glavin tbh sire he's talked about him alot this off-season but I think that's more due to being asked alot about him rather than the organic chat like what happened with bula last year

would hope both L Fainu and Galvin are in the halves.come round 10 or so, if we are not in contention no point playing sezer

People forget this with Simpkin.
He came from QLD cup and lockdown hit.
He didn’t get to play for 12mths then was getting runs off the bench. His development wasn’t given a chance to actually develop

We need TDS to keep getting minutes in the body and focus on his game style to eventually replace Api in 2-3yrs time.

Sure give him some NRL time now and then but putting him as a 14 for most NRL games will have impact him longer term.

Hookers need to work the game out and read players impact hookers aren’t a real thing majority of time in the game.

He is a half. Bud lost his spot in that trial. Child Prince at 6. Sezer at 7.

Latu pushing for 14 over Simpkin.
Bud sucked during the trial.

He should get another go, or at least the chance to work his way up in Reserve grade.
Happy to punt him, We don't have to give him the year. Just let Fainu push him out of the way.
