Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

A good clean out has not happened in years , we move a couple each year , a clean out would be 5 from first grade and 7 from reserve grade to really get some quality in who can fight for positions , you only need to see bulldogs results so far , some are saying they may sneak a top 8 spot this year , they moved on half a team or more
Actually we've had a good clean out every year for the past few years. Every off season we're saying "i can't believe we managed to get rid of...." Matulino, Reynolds, Nof, Musgrove, Liddle etc. We've done well with releasing players, we just haven't recruited well at all. Getting rid of the trash is only half the problem...

Brooks, Joffa, Noffa, Talau, Wakeham to name a few. There’s not too many originals still here if you think about.

Understand what you are saying and where it is coming from

But I think we all base his development on Payne hass

Hass is elite

Front rowers take years to develop in NRL and I think stef is doing ok and will develop into a great front rower

Plus he is our best front rower

Massive step backwards if we lose him

We really need to keep him
I'm not comparing him to Hass, But if I was he's coming up short....
As well as compared against plenty of other starting Props in the game.
He's young and got a ways to go, But he's got a ways to go....
Being the best Prop at the 2x Wooden Spooners is hardly anything to skite about?

I've seen him shown up by Plenty of unassuming Middles
- Blokes like Aloiai has shown him up a few times...

I'd prefer he stays, Staying on 850k+ I'd have to think about it....

Think he's after a spine position and a decent wage.

Which I believe he will get, somewhere.
If he wants to play spine I think 6 is the only position for him as every team has their fullback and he isn't a game manager.

In that case it leaves maybe Cowboys (Chad leaving) & Roosters (Keary leaving). I don't see him wanted to go to Cowboys and I am not sure he is what Roosters need. Panthers could be a chance but don't see them spending a decent amount on Talagi at this point with Schneider going well.

Maybe Dragons?

I hear what your saying but he is the best we have in that position

Also he is young and will get better

He is the only front rower we have that is worth keeping

All the mail has been that Lomax has been purchased for fullback, with Gutho expected to move to centre with his shot knees.
Wouldn’t buy into that yet. Lomax has barely played at fullback in NRL if anything they probably purchased him as a centre with a chance of being potentially fullback. BA reckons Blaze is the long term fullback and maybe he is. Just gotta see what unfolds. But I wouldn’t have promised Lomax fullback if Parra did they are idiots.

Lot of people on social media saying it's because there is worry he might end up a utility. His dad is apparently a bit of a yapper.. all he wants is to know what spot they see him playing in the team going forward so he can nail it down. Doesn't care if its in the spine or at centre / wing. Just doesn't want to end up a utility.

That’s the downside of being a utility type player, you don’t really own a spot. You could be decent at playing each of them but you never very rarely become elite at them given you may be playing centre one week and the next wing or fullback.
