I agree. There’s some signs of hope, such as how Papal’i was playing at 13 before being shuffled. I thought early in the game Bateman was going really well until Toa’s injury seen him move to centre where he was caught out in defence a couple of times. Bula looked like a real threat every time he had the ball. We ended up with 12 on the field for 10 minutes, we were down to two players on the bench and we still only lost by a converted try. Tigers of last year would of ended up 20+ behind.

Their side was weakened.
No Ponga, lost their main ball player Gamble, their strike fullback and also had a bloke in the bin.
Plus they aren’t very good.
We only lost to that by a converted try.

Richo has signed on to stay at the Tigers. I have no doubt he has some major things lined up. He didnt want to come in kicking over cans on a 3 month contract. Stopped the media leaks, He axed dickhead Lee and Brydons, and changed some other sponsors, he has been active in player signings and retention and im sure the coach issue is on his very large menu. Richo doesnt do mediocre. Benji would be on notice, kept quiet but on notice.

Its awkward for Richo.as Benji was a player magnet for some of our new signings...just behind the truckload of $$$ weve paid them
But it is a very real issue...BUT..most of our signings want success,which the incumbent probably isnt gonna deliver
My guess is Richo will be as impatient as most of us on here,and will have a plan for coaching succession rather than consign himself to be the 4 year CEO of perennial wooden spooners
He deserves better..so do we

It wouldnt matter, its only a title and ego. There are already numerous coaching staff, attacking, defence etc. Last year, Sheens was 'head' coach but Benji was the actual coach. There could be 5 head coaches. Means squat.

You just need ONE coach who can actually make a difference..we havent had one since Ivan,,in his initial year

It's both forwards & backs, mate. If the best we can say is that our forwards are hanging in there, that's a problem. Don't get me wrong, I agree our backs are shit.

This is correct imo. I was saying it all offseason. People were over rating our forward pack saying it was a top 8 pack. It’s clearly bottom 4. Other than Api, how many of our forwards are in the top half of the league in their respective positions? Stef maybe. Sam Finau shows lots of promise. Pole a bit of promise. Ice had his first good game of the year today. We need two new props, a new second rower and probably another good rotational bench player between our starters and bench.

Tigers seemingly odds on to match the Knights Wooden Spoon trifecta efforts in 2015, 2016 & 2017. Unless the NRL's PETER the PUMKIN EATER can get the Club supremos and the NRL Players Union onside with a another attempt of bringing in the Draft, Rugby League will always be a game of the HAVES and the HAVE- NOTS! I may need to take a hiatus from this great supporters site as I am so tired of members posting positive comments after EVERY LOSS! Am I the Funk & Wagnall description of a pessimist? Possibly, but 2012 to 2024 results ( so far) for West's Tigers hardly set me up to convert to the POSITIVE supporters club!
