Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The bondi to wests move must hit like a brick though. Would love to have gus, provide a very solid addition to our forwards, and i would imagine him to be more reliable then a Papali'i or Batemen by lightyears
Criticism of Papali’i is unwarranted.

How many actual bad games has he played for us? Answer: Not many.

Part of always losing I have noticed is that our consistent players always get lumped together with the losers who often lose us the game. Ahem, Naden ahem Staines.

Except Api - everyone wants to bang him.

I read his book. His recreational drug use was usually in the off season or when they had a bye. Sounds like he made a huge effort to never let it affect winning. There was a story where he showed up hungover one session and trained in his joggers and was the best on ground in the session. Joeys faults (bipolar disorder apparently) were countered bythe relentless competitor in him.
Did he paint his drug use in a good light in his own book so that people wouldn’t question exactly how bad it really was?
Smart man.

Article I linked earlier, said a few things. Mainly wants to play left second row and seems a bit annoyed with Roosters. Only catch is he said he wants to go to a good team.
Dam , Him on left back row , Pappi lock , Bateman right side back row be nice , he would cover us needing another prop I feel as we got young guys dang but Angus has good work rate , Never say never with Ricoh around

Calls that have said he doesn't put in 100% are also way off. People need to think back to the 80th minute of the Dragons game last year. He and Bula were the ones that made the 3 tackles in the same play.

I'd be happy to pay overs for Gus. We pay overs for nearly all top players that come to us, Gus would be worth it more than most others

I like Papi, just don't think he has played like he did at Parra. But in saying that I hadn't minded staines, at least compared to Naden

Not his exact words but he's a bit uncertain about his spot next year with Fifita coming.

Sell the dream Richo!
"Crichton labelled the Roosters' decision to sign Fifita as "interesting" and admitted it left him wondering about the club's thinking"
You wouldn't imagine Uncle Nick would be too happy with that

"I don’t want to be sitting behind anyone,” he said.

"If there’s an opportunity that makes sense (elsewhere), then I’ll definitely look at it.

Imo papalii actually played his best footy at para through the middle, yes he was good on the edge for them too but dynamic off the bench also. Hopefully they continue to play him at 13. Our edges are very weak asides from batemen, paps and fainu….we have a lack of quality young edges also angus would be a fantastic option for us to add some strike

The glaring standouts are like him or not, we are not getting value for money with the Bateman contract and obviously it’s no point paying anyone 500k that is unlikely to be part of the top 17.
I’ve got a feeling we are paying Naden more than 300k and unless he starts playing well on a regular basis, it would be time to replace him.
Galvin will need an upgrade to keep him happy.
We either need to cough up the cash to retain Stef, or we need tn find an square replacement.
I don't disagree but once (if) Galvin and Stef are upgraded it doesn't leave room for any notable recruits. Even if the likes of Naden are cut we can only replace him with someone of equal salary (or less as we likely need to pay part of his salary).
