Thanks Tucker,
Definitely an area for improvement; an area Benji has been harping on about for a few weeks now. It will be interesting to see the trend over the next few weeks - is it somethign Benji can influence or do we simply have too many braindead players on our roster?

Yes I think we can work on it. Maybe some drills concerning decision making in defence when under fatigue will help. Most offences have been dangerous contact from poor defensive technique rather than attempting to intimidate which is how teams like Roosters and Souths rack them up.

I agree with your assessmant for the most part and I think that is an ongoing development issue that I expect that Morris is already onto. The areas that I think we are having difficulty with are the red mist moments - Seyfath, Naden and Bateman are the biggest offenders; on such a consistent scale that they have cost us points on both sides of the ball so far this year.

Given that we have generally been in games - these momentum changes and couple of points on either side of the ball can be game changers. Let's see how they come back after the bye!

Most definitely the red mist stuff is destructive for our progression during a game.
Repeat offenders deserve an internal suspension from first grade. It lets your mates down

It either makes us look worse ( comparative bad behaviour) or it makes the MRC look worse ( comparative tough penalties )
I think the reason why so many are going on and on about this is because it has basically killed our season
We were plodding along sort of ok then we lose 5/8 for 2 matches then we lose cheif playmaker for 4 matches then edge forward for same crime as rooster got fine only then we lose both centers
Yes our discipline is poor and it happens when you can't keep up with the pace of the game and are back pedalling in defence .
Also our depth is very poor because if we had decent depth these suspensions wouldn't hurt so much
Wests Tigers problems are
1. Lack of depth in the squad
2. Lack of fitness
3. Lack of discipline ( this area has been exacerbated by the MRC )

1. This has been a problem for many many years. I started a thread on here pointing this out in the 2022 off season. It’s not new. The club refuses to address it.
2. Our blokes aren’t unfit. Their problem is they can’t tackle at a first grade standard and as such, fail to stop teams getting a roll on. The result is they become more fatigued than their opponents. This is when the poor discipline comes into play.
3. Lack of discipline comes from two areas. The first is fatigue based. They desperately try to keep up with play by slowing it down. The problem is they aren’t any good at this either. The second is we have some hotheads who can’t control themselves.
Our “treatment” by referees and match review committees/judiciaries is largely warranted.
