Stefano Utoikamanu #241

I can guarantee you no one's run metre stats will look good with 28% possession in full half of footy no matter how much they are earning or think they are worth.
Look at his other teammates. Seafarth as an example.
Not trying to change your mind if you think he’s played well, I just think he’s tanking after what he’s done earlier and all the contract talk.

Stef is gone , you can’t be that bad with origin opertunity , and big money contract offer from us , he has a deal with another club and I would say it’s probably about $ 700 k over 4 years with additional funds added each year , time to drop him as he offered up zero tonight , easy way , is to have pen in hand Monday morning , say sign it now or meet reserve grade coach for rest of season
Id rip up the upgraded offer to shreds in front of him before informing him he'd be playing for the Magpies next weekend
Thing is his dogging it is only hurting himself

I really ahte the way some players kick stones these days when they dont get what they want...the entitlement of some young players makes me sick

Back in my day theyd be put in stocks and stoned publicly aaarrrggghhhh

Yeah, unfortunately Twal is our best prop at the moment.

Stef is definitely wanting out. He's going out the same way woods went, and it's real ugly and weak. Not too late Stef but it's important you start learning a bit of pride, irrespective of whether you stay or not.
I don’t recall Woods doing this. I actually thought he tried hard to the end.

His decline started after he left.

tigers or pussycats that is the question

Never said he played well but he made 42 tackles that takes effort and in his second stint the whole team was dominated. We can't keep writing off individuals when the squad as a whole is full of weaknesses and then lament when they play well in stronger squads.- which can almost guarantee isx

Yep Woods always showed up for us on the field despite anything that was going on off field.

The poor performances only drive down his price. I would at least expect, if his manager is indeed agitating to get better deals, that the player rises to the occasion.

I'm not advocating to let Stefano go but his performance last night was not acceptable.
Give him a week in Reserve grade if we have lost him.
His manager will be screaming as it's mid contract negotiations.

I'm as disappointed as anyone.

But it wasn't Stephano patting Suli on the back like a game of touch football & then trotting along with an 'aww shucks' face as the Dragons ran down field.

Tigers had no possession in the second half. That was 100% (well....maybe 90%) their own fault & Stephano was responsible for one really dumb turnover of possession when we absolutely could not afford it.

But like some others have said- he's not the lone ranger. I don't think he's mailed it in. But this team is playing with zero belief & still doesn't know how to dominate the game.

Pole & Sione Fainu had the opportunity to step up & be part of the solution.

They did not.

Stef should be ashamed of himself

We're missing Klem and Ice.
He needed to stand up.
He simply didn't... or couldn't.

Wants to go to a team that can carry him.
Says it all really.
What a joke.
What i have heard is that a up and coming young player is starting to ask questions and could be also on the way out!!!!!

Benji should do what Ivan did, in regards to Turuva.

Drop him because of the stress around contracts.
Give him a week off and tell him to reflect and figure out what's next.

He's either with us, ready to be the leader of the pack... or he's not up for that challenge and he wants to go be a bit player at another club, like a true mid player.

Supposedly he has rejected the WT offer already
