What are the advantages of mid season release for players not contracted next year? Small amount of cap money, favours to player agents, advance juniors?

if even AJK can get a year extension out of Penrith … then there isn’t much chance the Tigers are picking up anyone for only the rest of this year

If by kill it you mean drop the ball, it’s a certainty.
And miss easy one on one tackles and then stand there with a smile on his face while watching and reflecting that he almost got them… I have never been so furious at watching some of his lame attempts to tackle and then his total lack of care and application to make up for it.. he is lazy and lacks any commitment to the result

Maybe move them on when we can and have the club positioned to pick up players identified for recruitment or those from the lower grades identified as a priority upgrade. I am not too concerned about results this year as we all know it was going to be tough.
Obviously Richo & Benji are getting rid of a lot of driftwood in order to free up Funds to import a half decent team.
Let's hope the good news starts coming to our Club Finally.

Hard to know isn't it? Smith could be great. Could be awful. Hasn't even been linked to us, but despite the obvious hesitations, it would be worth being in the conversation for such players.
An extra sharp tasty Cheese would be ideal for us.
I just can’t see him giving us that, we’d get mozzarella, soft and rubbery.

That's not a laugh. It's horrific, as a Jets supporter we've been through the wringer already without this

Hope the medical includes a thorough inspection of his hands to make sure that they are not actually feet.
Something we should have done?
Not to mention he’s half blind, he shoulda had a flipper/hand transplant when he had his eyes done. Wasn’t he one of Hartigan’s signings from the crooks? It was a bloody setup, they knew I bet.

Giving up is not ok.
Surrendering to defeat should never be an acceptable strategy.

While we won't make the finals in the top 2 grades we want to build some momentum heading into next season. That starts by bringing in new faces who might be able to help us jag more wins now.

Winning games now makes us a more attractive target for other players. Losing by 40 points every week for the rest of the year will get all of our current and future players questioning what's going on. We need to save face as much as possible.

Our objective in the NRL is to not finish last. Whether we sign someone on a 6 month nrl contract, or even train and trials with a view to getting a top 30 deal in 2025 we need to offer some nrl ready players the chance. We have no NRL ready players in our cup side, other than throwing more and more teenagers into first grade alongside one another, which isn't a smart move.

Out of the 3 spots available in our top 30 (if flippers leaves) at least 2 must be external players improving our immediate depth. Fast tracking a player a few months early does nothing to help us win games, it just increases their bank accounts. All NSW cup players are all eligible for first grade with no upgrade's necessary, until someone earns it.

We have to rip the bandaid off at some point, not limp to the finish line each time. Every team that has a rise, you'll see it in the prior years. The panthers, dogs etc. You can move cap forward and start building for next year. It's not about increasing packets, it's adjusting.

To Benji's point in the conference, "people need to change" if we aren't learning from our mistakes. That's also part of gaining momentum for next year. Can you imagine how ticked-off players are playing with someone like naden?

You're right about the juniors. I don't think we should have them in 1sts. But if we can manage them in the 30 and not call on them, then that might be a tactic.... otherwise Richo has talked about hiring solid 1st graders and that's where I think he'll look at. Good team players.
