OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

If Moses wants more money for Galvin why doesn’t he ask the other tigers players in his stable, Klemmer and Bateman, to reduce their contracts in line with their performance with that money going to Galvin? It will never happen of course.

If Galvin really does want to leave I think we should consider it in the offseason or before the transfer deadline next year. If Latu is as good as advertised, and O Large is still with us, we may as well trade him for a good player, or two average players, in return to strengthen our roster overall. Key to this will be Latu having a run of first grade games this year and showing promise and O Large being locked up for a few more years.

Out of Galvin, Latu and Large, Galvin is the one to lose. He is not fast and will likely have to transition to the forwards at some point. This carries risk given his light frame.

In the case of player managers like Moses being suspended or banned, his business just keeps on rollin' on with him no longer fronting the show, just sitting on the sideline still pulling the strings like the puppeteer that he is.

Pretty much business as usual.
So true, basically impossible to stop him. You ban him, and to do that you need concrete evidence, he just puts a front man in his role and he pulls the strings.

Player management groups basically now control the game as they control player and to a lesser extent coaches movements. Both the clubs and the NRL treat them with kid gloves because the power they have

Figure pulling strings in Tiger teen circus;

Wests Tigers teenager Lachlan Galvin seems like a great young bloke from a thoroughly decent family.
Which is why it’s so bizarre to see the agitation and the attempted manipulation around the rookie requesting an immediate release.

Galvin has played 10 NRL games this season and has a contract with Wests Tigers until the end of 2026.

Low and behold the agent puppeteering the strings on the Galvin situation is none other than Isaac Moses.

This is the same Isaac Moses who was involved when his cousin Mitchell demanded an immediate release to move to the Parramatta Eels.

The same year Moses also moved James Tedesco to the Sydney Roosters and Aaron Woods to the Bulldogs.

All three players – like Galvin – were local Wests Tigers juniors.

For unknown reasons Moses has now apparently thrown his toys out of the cot about Wests Tigers coach Benji Marshall.

This is not unusual given Moses has a penchant for fallouts with some of the biggest and most influential figures in the game.

Nick Politis, Phil Gould and Ricky Stuart all point blank refuse to deal with him.

Good on Wests Tigers CEO Shane Richardson for having the cojones to reject the release request.

The mail is Richardson will meet Galvin’s parents this week to explain the Wests Tigers reasoning and outline the club’s plan moving forward.

And spare us the fluffy cupcake fairytales about the Wests Tigers refusing to provide him with a direct pathway into the NRL.

We can’t think of too many other NRL coaches who would have selected the 18-year-old in the no.6 jumper for the start of the season.

The only two games Galvin’s missed is when he was suspended for a hip drop tackle at the conclusion of round three.

He’s then been rested this week which was always planned as he recovers from a broken hand.

The Wests Tigers met Moses last Friday and offered an upgrade and an extension on Galvin’s current deal.

Moses immediately rejected it and then the circus began to unfold off the back of it.

Like we said at the start Galvin seems like a great young bloke from a good family.

But there are no winners when agents try to agitate with players under contract.

It’s also interesting to note NRL CEO Andrew Abdo has weighed in on the issue warning rules are rules around players under contract.

Can’t believe Hooper actually writing something with some substance. Let’s hope the media keeping the fire burning on Moses and his dealings

The soft spot that he had for the Tigers was his left meniscus.

He signed for two years for us with busted knees and thankfully retired after one year at the end of 2004 - or we would never have won the Premiership in 2005!

Then he actively recruited Laffranchi and Prince to the Titans for 2007 - as well as targeting Payten - Farah and Marshall while under contract etc.

Not a Satts fan myself!
Great tackle in the Grand Final, probably his finest moment.

Great radio - are the players listening?
It was a great listen.
Some real life lessons and experience on display. Concur, hope parents and Galvin have a listen, and;
1. Richo explains what's in the plan/pipeline [in strict confidence, not to be repeated to Moses or the media]
2. Adjusts his contract to reflect his value and
3. Extends the length of the contract to ward off suiters.

If it gets to you so much, just put me on ignore mate. Saves you getting upset, and saves me getting notifications from you, following me around in every thread barking at me
Nice one champ, as if I would follow u around! Please I have much better taste than that. It’s just that u troll on every topic on here ‘the disrupter’! Not upset it’s just annoying…

They're right...
He's 18 - He has plenty of time....
Kids wanna play with their mates.

I don't think he wants to go, But he wants (Much) more money
- But also wants to be able to re-negotiate in 3 years....
When there'll be about 6 less big name halves in the game, And all and sundry will know the lay of the land on what's coming through and where they're at.
He'll be a bit older and may look to jump then.

I love these 'competitive' sports athletes who aren't looking to compete these days....
What Boxer goes out and says I can't win because of the camp I keep....

These blokes are getting paid to win, Not just take part....
There's 30 odd of them in the squad that have been doing this for most of their lives,
Surely they can find a way to make it happen - Or at least be better.....
lol , I’m not even sure HE does . 150k , living with your parents , 6 months out of high school , would be like wtf to him. At 18 he wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between 150-250k , and how far that would change , our side of investment opportunities, advised to him….. his manager and to a lesser extent his parents ….. mmmmmm . There’s a massive difference between 7500-15000 dollars commission , as there is to 30-60k commission (600k for Galvin) . This is what it’s really about.
There’s a reason a lot of players have jumped off him lately . His stable is not the who’s who of players it once was . And I think that’s because he rarely had the players BEST interest at heart. Usually it’s his interest that aligns with thiers.
Look at the Brown being sued stuff . As a dad if my son ever made nrl , he would be the last person I would want around my kid .
I actually think Braith , or , Tyran Smith would be the most ideal , guys like that with a strong reputation . Despite what we think about Braith .
The only player who has a long standing relationship with Moses is his nephew … everyone else has either jumped ship , or finds a new agent .
You don’t have to be a shark to navigate the oceans .

I really get sick of the media muppets and their crap comparisons on us not letting Galvin go but are trying to offload Sullivan.
The case is we have a contract with both and we can hold Galvin to it as that’s the rules. Sullivan in turn can also hold us to the contract if he chooses to do so, that’s the rules. If he doesn’t want to leave that’s fine just like packer did!! Stop banging on about a comparison that u are miss using, muppets.
Bunch of hypocrites if you ask me. Did Dragons get the same treatment when they told Bud he was free to leave but held Hunt to his contract?

He's a big advocate for players leaving clubs when it's one of our players, but when it's a team he likes the player is showing no loyalty.
Buzz doesn't like Wests Tigers. Not sure why, but it predates Richo who apparently he also doesn't get on with. He advocates for Galvin to be let go under some kind of mercy plea, but he was insistent that Ben Hunt should honour his contract. Difference being he is great mates with Flanno. There is very little objectivity in RL journalism, partcularly in the FOX / Newscorp stable. It's all based on mates, protected sources, contra deals and would you believe it, still on lines that were drawn during Super League / ARL days.

The Dragons were being portrayed as a basket case over the Hunt and Lomax situations. If they’d only won 2 games, you’d still be reading about it everyday. Don’t kid yourself.

I find Gavin's longevity at 5/8 is limited because he DOES'T HAVE A SIDE STEP! No evasive moves!
And his speed will decrease as he fills out. Smart enough, sets up runners, improved kicking game, A keeper IMO, but will most likely transition to the forwards in time. But someone needs to tell him that. It is the most likely scenario. Get used to it.
You're a straight runner, not an evasive runner!

The reason why we are such an easy target is because we don’t win enough games to silence it. That’s why it doesn’t seem like other teams cop it as much as us, cos they have their struggles, then shake it off and move up the ladder. We never do, hence why these stories constantly linger.

Apparently one of his gripes is that he has been told that he will end up a second rower as he fills out.

Very good comment by Johns , Our boy needs to take notice of this and do exactly what he said , train Hard , Tuen up , embarrasses the older players , help revive the tigers
And that's one reason why John's is an immortal. Joining a champion cllub and playing finals is one thing. Transforming a club and taking it to the finals is on a completely different level. I reckon that's Luai's attitude. He's a winner, he expects to win and he won't accept his teammates thinking any other way.
