OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

First comment on the subject of Galvin.
All I can say is it’s sooooo disappointing to read and hear the crap that keeps coming out. Who knows the real truth about any of it. So many different agendas being pushed. Media twists the facts to suit themselves. Any opportunity to turn the knife into the club.
I am terribly saddened and disillusioned if he really did say he couldn’t wait to leave the club in the dressing sheds after last week’s game.
Who the hell would want Benji’s job!

in reality he probably said in the sheds "can't wait to leave this place" meaning the sheds and grogfield overheard it turned it into a story. Feel sorry for Galvin in that instance

The bigger concern is the two requests for releases from his manager which richo even acknowledged. Managers get riding instructions from players

I still think its mostly still on the preseason request given we had so many halves and Moses has taken the opportunity to revisit that. I also think it was probably more, can't wait to get out of here and hooper or some journo heard what they wanted to hear or just made it up.

It's been tough because we lose galvin straight after eels win, then we lose Aidan. No momentum, no confidence building. Sullivan and galvin just has not worked.

From players, or in this case most likely his parents I suspect

Braith also had a number of shots at Fulton (especially the outrageous contract he signed Sullivan to). When Buzz tried to defend Fulton then Braith lashed him with “I know he’s [Fulton] a mate of yours!”
So Benji did not sign Sullivan, Fulton did, is that correct, because Graham was saying on 360 that Benji signed Sullivan and now Benji is basically throwing him out of his 4 year contract after a few months.

Who knows but Benji shouldn’t have free rein or even the final say given he’s a rookie coach and hasn’t had to deal with bad long term signings in the past.

Didn’t Benji have to approve all the long term player contracts?

We know he stopped Fulton signing Schuster ( thankfully) … so I’m assuming he would have to at last have ticked the box on Sullivan

Totally agree, and the best 5/8 hasn't even had a run yet, Galvin is fortunate that Latu is injured. If Latu had been fit and able to start the year Galvin would be running around in Flegg.
How many of us have seen superstars in the junior grades growing up that just aren’t the same once in the top grade.
Galvin has shown in his first season that he belongs
If everyone talking Fainu up and predicting he will be better than Galvin are correct, that’s great for the team but let’s just wait and see how it all plays out.
Most can only dream about the start to his career that Galvin has had.
Let’s not start rubbishing an 18 year old kid that has been doing his best for this team.

Galvin was given a premature start by Benji and he’s done okay at best. A few great games but overall solid performance for a kid. He has talent but lacks speed and is destined for 13.

I find it strange demanding a release when on a low contract for two years. Makes no sense Tigers can enforce it and if it gets ugly play him in cup for 2 and a half years.

It’s a rare case the player has zero leverage and Richo is the wrong cat to bluff.

James Graham, I was a fan of him but he has done nothing but kick the boot into us this year and I think it's because he is wanting to keep us down the bottom and help his Dogs out. Maybe his cut that we got Laui over them.
Maby cause we are comming last and on a 10 game loosening streak

It’s encouraging to see ex players in the media come out and say the the kid should stay with the Tigers and fight to dig us out.
I agree that’s a better legacy should it work.
They're right...
He's 18 - He has plenty of time....
Kids wanna play with their mates.

I don't think he wants to go, But he wants (Much) more money
- But also wants to be able to re-negotiate in 3 years....
When there'll be about 6 less big name halves in the game, And all and sundry will know the lay of the land on what's coming through and where they're at.
He'll be a bit older and may look to jump then.

I love these 'competitive' sports athletes who aren't looking to compete these days....
What Boxer goes out and says I can't win because of the camp I keep....

These blokes are getting paid to win, Not just take part....
There's 30 odd of them in the squad that have been doing this for most of their lives,
Surely they can find a way to make it happen - Or at least be better.....

I hope this current backlash from ex players like MG, Johns boys,Tallis and Anasta actually hits home with Galvin and his family. Although I think Moses will be advising them to keep low for a week and it all will blow away, as there will be another drama to force this one out of the media.

The other thing, when someone cops a barrage for doing something, it can make them more determined to continue even if it is the wrong thing to do
