LIVE GAME Round 15 vs. Titans

Live Game Discussion
Hes more like a Daihatsu Charade..
I had a Daihatsu Charade for a few years, and the dear little thing grew wings when you hit the power button on the auto gear box.
With 4 people in the car 2 of which were fairly solid I got up that steep hill on the M1 [near Hawkesbury River from memory] on the way to Sydney without losing any speed.

So are the grandies hooked after a come from behind win at Leichhardt?
Did they get an autograph?

Oh, as I posted earlier, today started as a bit of a disaster, family-wise, due to sickness, so the Leichhardt/Wests Tigers induction had to be put on hold till another day.
But we watched the game via TV and everyone loved the game.
Their young enthusiasm will be at the 8th pretty soon, I'd think.

And seeing the players close up, and selfies, and autographs will be a given!! ✅

Benji was right in the presser, when the squad came out to warm up a big cheer went around the ground and people were yelling out trying to encourage the side.

Along with the beast that is Wests Tigers, the Balmain side of the club was over-represented in the crowd but I saw a large number of pristine Magpie black and white Victa jerseys.

I’m still hoping we can reproduce the same atmospherics at css, share the venues.

I’ve always thought we could have our cake and eat it with both clubs of origin and today was a good example of that.

There was a bit of unruly behaviour after the game, a bit noisy and banging up the street, but that was just expression of joy. Just the relief of winning with a underdog side, some people letting their hair down.

If a resident basket weaver came out to complain, they’d probably be hugged then dragged off to the pub to celebrate with us.

There was no setting bins on fire, smashing windscreens, taking of hostages at knifepoint or that soccer nonsense.

Mate until CSS gets an atmosphere , and the fans want to become apart of the game , it’s going to be hard to justify playing games there , especially if they don’t redevelop it.
It doesn’t make money , has no atmosphere and is about as far as you can get and still call yourself in Sydney .
I took my family there last game , and the atmosphere was horrendous . It was packed and still no feeling .
It should be good … but it just isn’t .
Were wests games like that ? I remember going as a kid to watch wests vs Balmain , but I don’t remember the feeling .
It really irritated me to be honest .

Corporate seating on the hill Richo, no one complained son, just decided to stand. There were a few hardy souls with blankets.

My pre-game thoughts from another thread:

"I'm hoping for confidence building as the game goes on.
Deep structure in attack.
All for one and one for all, in defense.
And guts, guts, guts ......."

WOW!!
The Titans didn't score another point after the 20th minute of the 1st half.
Let me think about that.
Just WOW!!

I'd say my pre-game hopes were pretty much wrapped up over the 80 minutes.
Thanks boys, and let's start again next game.

Once upon a time there was a Wests Tigers that was actively involved in Campbelltown and had a team packed with brilliant local players.

Games at Campbelltown actually meant something back then and they were certainly at times on par with LO. Chris Lawrence was always sensational at Campbelltown from 2006-2011. Hodgo, Skando, Gibbs, Fulton, it all meant something to this guys. Even when we had to play the titans, warriors and raiders at CCS year in year out.

You also have to remember that the team really made a costly and selfish mistake not appearing in Campbelltown until (half the team, and pissed and hungover) next day after the GF win when the club was stacked with Campbelltown juniors:

The club has been up its own arse playing fantasy football with journeyman players for the last 7-10 years and completely neglected the wellspring of its own success out west. People from Campbelltown are not stupid. This team and this club is kidding itself if they think it’s enough to just turn up and expect the local battlers to just buy in.

Richo has begun the process of re-engaging with the area. Rightfully so. But yea, one game in playing Sydney teams in Campbelltown again and it’s not even a home game in the minds of some of our fans. The team was appalling against the Dragons. I’m pretty sure the atmosphere is terrible at LO when the team plays rubbish as well like when we Shanked Tommy Raudonkis tribute match…

Suburban grounds are the best experience when winning when the fans turn up no matter where they are, and for which ever club is lucky enough to still play out of one. The wins have been few and far between at any ground for this club and Campbelltown is well over due for one for the fans that turn up and hope it comes soon.
