Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The fact that both naden and bud are saying that they will stay put is a good mentality to have for culture.
Tapped on the shoulder and told they aren’t wanted but are prepared to compete for a playing spot. Both will be wanting a contract when there current one expires so can’t idle along like packer
It's not though.

Having highly overpaid, poor performing morons taking up spots in the top 30 and even our 17 is bad for culture. You can already see Galvin complaining that we gave Sullivan such a huge payrise when he didn't do anything to earn it, so now he wants one too. Players who are happy to go through the motions in reserve grade picking up their paychecks is bad for business. ANd most importantly, if they don't go it means we can't sign ANYONE new for next season and are stuck with the same muppets happy to come last again.

It’s a balance. If Naden and Sullivan are our back up depth then it’s not too bad…just gotta be paid accordingly which they probably aren’t (ie over paid for that squad role)

Oh my god , how many times have we heard this , we have super stars coming throw , over the last 10!years we have not seen many , AT present we need seasoned 1st graders to at least help bring throw maybe 1-3 kids because , been real only 1 in a hundred only make it , and that comes from the panthers play book and they should know
In the last 10 years, never. We haven't had any superstars coming through since the big 4.

The things i other clubs all have good juniors coming through too, we're not alone there. Other clubs also sign first graders for the now, so they youngsters are pushed to perform higher by these established players and aren't simply giftwrapped a first grade spot.

Looks like the club has jumped the gun and re-signed Doueihi. Very disappointing.

We just give out contacts wily nily to everyone. He has not earned his extension. He's played one game, 60 mins in Cup. How on earth could we make the decision to sign him given he has no defined position in first grade, and hasn't proven his body can withstand the rigours of first grade after 3 ACLs.

Very disappointing, i thought the culture of the club was supposed to eb changing. Still jobs for the boys though it seems.

Geez .. talk about optimism ..

They want to stay put and continue to get a good pay check ..that no one else will give them …it’s the club’s fault at the end of the day … but we don’t have to pretend it’s a great outcome ..

Are you kidding me?

Lol … they can’t help themselves .. What was the hurry ?

better at least be for the minimum amount

He has to be dumped to reserve grade for the rest of the season.

Promote Lobb or someone ahead of him, make him feel the humiliation of reserve grade and let him seep in it.

He'll get paid his full contract either way, he might as well just leave and play first team elsewhere.
If he's in reserve grade for the wooden spooners he's unlikely to be playing first grade anywhere else. As for any humiliation _ I guess money heals many wounds.

Hopefully on $250k or under

Yeh wow just got the members email. A bit disappointed with this he certainly hasn't earnt it for mine & we already have a logjam in the halves position as it is with him being hellbent insistent on the fact he's a half.

Can only think it's on low $$$ for next year with parties to revisit an extension at the end of this season for more $$$ if he can prove his worth.

And with club's plans to play him at centre or lock or NSW Cup halfback only (which would mean no Sezer) hopefully.

Otherwise it's disappointing.

I think we may only sign one more outside back when you look at the NsW cup back 5. All tennagers
Luke Lulilii ( our brian Too) or nee noffa
Heath Mason - can cover all positions in backline needs to be the 14 for NrL
Feleldey not up to standard
Solomon Saukuru progressing through the grades, big body
And Narven Willet, this kid going to be a star! Not sure if he is on a development deal next year but will do a preseason with the top squad.

And going off richos comments we wont be blocking spots!

Throw in Manasaki and Large if they stay, future is bright in 2026

They get the money whether they stay or go!!!!!

We'll top their UK contracts with the deficit of value. Their staying isn't about money.

He'll earn the same money in the UK as here. Only there he'll be playing weekly, here he will hopefully never play first grade again.

In Dean Ritchie’s story today …

Centre Brent Naden has a contract at Wests Tigers for next year and insists it will be honoured.

There has been speculation Naden, 28, may be offloaded, possibly at Catalans, after this season.

But Naden wants to stay, has no plans to play in Super League and will be front and centre at Concord again in 2025.
Honestly don’t mind this as I feel like Naden does a lot more for the culture and vibes at the club then alot of people are willing to give him credit for

He also adds some experience to our cup team

And to be clear im not saying Naden should be playing nrl week in week out

You forgot Large.

In any case this is pointless to predict far in the future, too much will change between now and then
