Agree with you there. Matamua has some good ball skills and suitable in lock. If he can lift his defence and fitness he will make a good option for that position.Still a centre/winger and a 2nd rower short IMO.
Think we look better with a genuine ball playing lock on the field which I dont think Bateman offers. Jury is still out on Matamua and Kit Laulili'i. Hope Matamua can get the defensive lapses out and improve his running because I like how he moves the ball.
I thought he would become a solid player with us but he never got a run of games , very raw and young , could still be worth a cup spot if he comes cheap , we need players in cup as well as the top grade but we do need cup players who can step up ,He has apparently been going well playing QLd Cuo along with a few of our other discards,

HilariousThis thread is dead and defiled!
Troll idiots...
Sullivan might have some issues with that!Take away Buds money...
Promising allround prop, good metres, very solid defensively & good motor on him and only young. Off contract Nov 1.Opinions on Davey Moale from Souths??
They all have potential. I know Laulilii was playing against men last weekend in KOE but his positioning was poor and he fell off plenty of tackles. Will be better for the run but needs to continue improving. Mason held his own off the bench in 1sts - exciting. Really not sure Feledy has what it takes to play consistent first grade. Saukuru isn't overly quick; reminds me of Alamoti at the Panthers. Willett hasn't done anything wrong - solid aerial threat but again doesn't seem to have a whole lot of pace.I think we may only sign one more outside back when you look at the NsW cup back 5. All tennagers
Luke Lulilii ( our brian Too) or nee noffa
Heath Mason - can cover all positions in backline needs to be the 14 for NrL
Feleldey not up to standard
Solomon Saukuru progressing through the grades, big body
And Narven Willet, this kid going to be a star! Not sure if he is on a development deal next year but will do a preseason with the top squad.
And going off richos comments we wont be blocking spots!
Throw in Manasaki and Large if they stay, future is bright in 2026
As Solomon Saukuru is not overly quick then at 115kg he may find himself in the second row given his size. They all have potential. Looking forward to seeing this Manasaki.I think we may only sign one more outside back when you look at the NsW cup back 5. All tennagers
