The Magpies were always an inner west club (Pratten Park at Ashfield and Lidcombe Oval) and only moved to Campbelltown in 1987. The club was actually founded in Ashfield.

The wisdom of moving so far out at the time was they were going to take advantage of the growing Macarthur region....sounds familiar.

There are some die hard Campbelltown supporters on here that are probably residents of the south west, so any slight on the stadium is taken as a slight at where they live.

The issue is both clubs are ultimately inner west clubs and that's why we get so much support there, coupled with the fact that there's just much more to do before and after a game in the inner west than being stuck out in Campbelltown.

There's nothing wrong with nurturing the area, but both the Magpies and now the Tigers have been ramming Campbelltown down the fans throats as the second coming of for years and the fans and players just don't respond. Sure...we get the odd crowd out there, but it's hilarious to see people justify it by saying we aren't getting crowds because the away teams that play are out of towners. At Leichhardt, it doesn't matter if it's Melbourne or Nth Qld....it's packed out and people it despite the shit hole it is.
I agree with everything you say. Problem is we can’t live in the past have to build west and move there it will become its own version of Syndey in 20 years. It’s like Thanos inevitable.

Heard on 360. Richo put this to the board
next year
cambo to have 4 games
acor. 5 games
LO. 3 games
Makes some sense Dogs, Eels, Rabbits, Roosters, Dragons are 5 games when travelling well you would get >20k

LO for interstate games Broncos, Storm, Cowboys, Dolphins, Titans.

Cambo Penrith, Canberra, Warriors, Knights can draw crowds there and out home crowds should be enough if we win games.

Boss...trying since 1987...they don't care about us

Its been a long time since i was there when full...and I mean capacity, the day we beat NQ to secure our first finals spot...special occasion and lots of atmosphere then
It seems to me you get a lot of young people just rocking along for somethig to do, not really into the footy even if the young guys are local juniors....it reminds me a bit of Mid week Amco cup games at LO in the 70s and 80s...it was a hang out unless for me personally Wests were playing

Casual supporters there are probably more at CSS, and with the history and family traditionon playing a big part Id say theres more members (hard core support) at LO....of course with a mix of both venturing back and forth to both grounds
