The best thing about today?

All the kids played with confidence, unencumbered by any sort of expectation or fear and looked like winners.

This has to be close to the most inexperienced team in terms of games to that the field in the NRL era.

I feel the future is looking bright!

(Honourable mention to AD. Just great to see him out there and playing. They should allow to play the roving centre role like Turbo/Latrelle do at Origin).

I'm a broken record about Galvin - but he just keeps proving what a player he is. People here turn on players as soon as they want out, as if they're suddenly not as good.

Haven't been this impressed since Grant's rookie season with us, though that time wasn't as exciting because he was never going to be ours.

I'm still super skeptical about where Galvin's future lies after this contract, but the only way to keep him is to keep winning. With next years additions, and these young kids making an impact - we might be a chance.
The quality of our left side of Galvin, Fainu, Doueihi and Faataape is outstanding. A very unsatisfying thought crossed my mind that rather than lifting just Galvin, the Roosters may lift the lot of them for less than $250k on their cap and still have enough left to pick up a few superstars. Just a thought.

Why counting L Fainu out?

Definitely hard to fit them in, but we should experiment with their positions at the very least.

We're no top club so players don't stick around to play 2nd fiddle like at Storm/Roosters, but those clubs have had this 'problem' heaps and managed to make it work.
There is a 6 and 7 in a team and our current 7 is in the twilight of his career. Young Fainu is a super talent and a player who will play a big role in the rebirth of WTs. There is no issue here and I am unsure why it is raised. I am sure Marshall and his staff are very pleased to have quality young halves at the club.

All but forgotten what it's like when you have a real threat 3 in....

Interested to watch him come on,
I think he's played too many games for Rookie of the year....
But he's dead set killing it.
. . . . . . . and he's got a kicking game as well. 🤣

Not saying it’s no less of an honour, but unless you get selected for Australia, there isn’t really much competition for spots in the other sides. The fact he played before he even debuted is proof of that.
That’s not the point.
You want to offload a bloke who has massive wraps and has spent time in camp with international players who toured England last year for a Test series, playing one of those games himself.
He has untapped potential that the club has not explored because another teenager is favoured. We need to know what he can do ASAP.

After tonight's win we just need to win 9 more of 10 games to make the 8 (9 wins 18 pts 1 BYE left plus current 12 pts. = 32)

BTW Does anyone know when our last game which had been a BYE was switched to the 2nd last Round with our last game now vs Parra. Now wouldn't that be a game for all seasons to make the 8! BRING IT ON kids!
I would be more inclined to say that last game against Parramatta could possibly be the one that gets the Parra-sites the spoon. 🤞

That doesn’t mean anything. Lots of players get hyped coming through the juniors and amount to nothing. He’ll be doing really well to match what Galvin has produced this year.
Galvin playing well and vastly exceeding expectation is completely irrelevant to Latu's ability.

He's a prodigious talent.

If you've got two Ferraris that can't fit on the driveway, you don't sell one...

... You find a bigger driveway.

They'll find a spot for Latu. He's still only 18 himself. And he'll be first drop in the halves from next year.

The kid will make Isaiah Katoa look NSW Cup standard.

I think sione fainu deserves a huge rap aswell his ball playing from 13 was great. Digging rite into the line then nailing the pass back to the half’s

benjis decision to get stefano back out there as moment was turning was a master stroke aswell
Definitely mate.

As I said last week, he's our best lock option atm for mine. He looks better every game he gets.

At the moment he has literally done nothing in the NRL …so this talk is premature ..

also having hamstring issues at 19 is not a great start to his NRL career … he can’t even get through a game off the bench

I’m hoping he lives up to the wraps he came here with … but let’s wait and see

Lots of positives but my favourite things this morning:
1 - the long range try to open the second half, looked like the Tigers we all remember.
2 - didn't drop our bundle after 4 close no tries at 12 - 0. Attitude shift is the biggest thing we needed and that was another small green shoot from a tough season.

It's unexplored because he's a hologram, a figment of the imagination, a plasticine toy.
The other other kid's a proven commodity against men with talent that's undeniable.
It's time to embrace Galvin and love on him. He's the real deal.
Fainu could be good, who knows, nobody can know, he never plays.
Enough with the international bullshit. He played half a game shovelling the ball from dummy half.
Johnny Mitsias is an international. He also couldn't make it out of Ron Massey Cup. Let's put him in.

Yeah this is a silly argument... It's like arguing for arguments sake...
We should be excited and happy we have such talent

The other point that is flying under the radar is-------- wait for it!!!!
"Benji's" coaching!!!
Seems to be getting the most out of the new guys. They are listening and sticking to the game plan.
Fiery flair ups gone, brain explosions gone, want to be here next year, earn it.
Better bench rotations all adding up to better results.

Of course it's premature, he's played 2 games off the interchange bench.

He'll be a star.

*The composure Galvin showed for Apis try... It like he turned the game to slo mo for a few seconds

*Douehi I'd forgotten how good he can be... I recall a commentator saying he's all knees and elbows in a big fast strong body can be unstoppable at times... I was skeptical of him at center... He's had a hell of a recovery but what a comeback!
* Challenging kicks... Does my head in just watching the opposition catch a 5th tackle bomb... Today showed challenging can pay off
* the atmosphere coming thru the TV.... PLENTY of atmosphere there today and great to get a 4 year monkey off our back with a flogging
*scoring 8 tried in a game when all we could recently mange was 2, maybe 3 a game 💪
That is the brilliance. On the field. Can't speak for him off the field with mon and dad. Galvin. That moment Ink was 100% a past life caught on film.. the game stopped in that moment...whilst the clock was ticking... It was like the Twilight Zone. Who is this kid? From the Twilight Zone? Doubt it. But definately a moment in tine.

Yes.

Still some residual discipline issues to sort through though.
