Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Galvin didn’t extend his contract,
Meaning he knocked back an upgrade $ over the next 2 years and is staying because he has to.
Those that think he is here for a long time could just be going off a bit early.
He’s taking a risk that he doesn’t get injured and will make that money later on, with WHO is anyone’s guess.
No guarantee it is with the Tigers unfortunately.
No player is committed beyond 5 years except luai .
We have made our choice on who the franchise player is . And he’s currently playing for Penrith .
Whilst there hopefully is a succession plan , we have to hope that we continue our current trajectory to convince those on the fence to commit long term .
The more we win the more likely the team will stick together .

Hence the thread. Rumours, innuendo, hearsay.. journalism...social media, my sisters friend cousin, my mate at work who knows a friend that is friends with Api, your critical suggestions, etc etc etc.. fantasy. One minute wonders. No facts here. Until they sign or unsign. The Disney Channel Thread if you will. Or. The Star Enquirer. Or.. just journalism...
U forgot your neighbours local mechanic twin sister

Nah players were calling him every day wanting to play for us. Remember when Pinocchio told that whopper?
Yeah I remember thinking “As if anyone is buying that crappolla”.
I remember there wasn’t much out there at the time either, he would’ve been better off just saying we not happy with the quality of stock on the market or something less cringe and unbelievable.
He’s got know idea how to work the sitch or the media, I’d loved to play poker against him.

Reports about to come out tomorrow that the club has identified Nelson Asofa-Solomona as the replacement option if Stefano is to depart the club.

Thoughts?
Big unit to stick up for all our kids. Concern is Bellamy seems off him so will he bring the Storm culture or be here to mail it in.

NAS
Api
Klem
Samuela
Pommy mystery man
Pole

Seyfarth
Bateman
Twal / Sione / Miller

Serviceable.

I’d pay $650k for him - Storm to chip in $250k is fair for someone warming the bench.

I think there’s a kiwi connection as well.
His stats are dropping year on year for the last couple, not surprising Bellamy is moving on from that deal.

From what i have heard, Stefano is open to staying but is looking for a bigger deal as some other clubs would be willing to offer up to 1 million a season based on the market. There are some clubs out there desperate for a prop, and props are now top 3 in highest paid positions in the game after fullbacks and halfbacks. For perspective:

Haas, Tino, AFB, Taumalolo, Jake Trbojevic and JFH are all on 1mil+ a season.
Tapine, NAS, Saifiti brothers, Paulo and RCG are in the 900k range.

Stef along with Leota, Cotter and Collins would roughly make up the top 15 props in the game.

Stefano is younger than all those players and not yet in his prime so is looking for his pay day based on the current market.

Stef is meeting with Richo and Benji this week so hopefully they can get a deal done. Anything less than a million a season would be really good business based on the current market, especially given he is only 24 and has his prime ahead of him.

If those numbers are correct then Stef is $900 thousand bracket. Rule no.1 of negotiation is leave room to negotiate. Let's hope Richo went in at $800 trying to get it across the line for $900.

If Utoikamanu DOES leave, NAS under certain conditions is a good replacement.

He can't be worth the same money as Utoikamanu.

He can't be carrying a long term injury.

You take those 2 conditions into play, and he is the large human we don't have until Miller is ready.

I've plumped for the Raiders Peter Hola. He's ALSO a big body human. NAS comes with a resume though.

Ideally- we keep Utoikamanu.

I'd then look at Hola as a rotational/depth option.
