25.

Which Matthew Elliot considers is the peak age for forwards.

I might be splitting hairs with Matt, but I think 27 is more optimal.

Because males will reach max strength at age 30.

Individuals vary obviously.

He might have been a player who simply peaked too early and he might struggle under the intensity of clearyfication.
So. Mathew Elliot is god? Because he thinks?

People are upset because he performed well before he got here and will play well at his next club
Not interested here but will and has shown interest before
There's plenty like that with us
I think Papali’i defended well and carted the ball strongly for the most part while he was here. He really tidied up an edge in defence where that was our main weakness before he arrived.

But… is that worth 750K in a team that is sorely missing point scorers? Unfortunately I think no.

He’s collateral damage as we try to turn over a really unbalanced roster. Maybe he could have stayed if Richo was able to convince a few others to bugger off to the UK??

Yes. He did his best under our system.

Well that was his view, he didn’t bother to substantiate it of course.

A test!

I put Matt v me to the test…looking at the current kangaroo side i determined that of the 11 forwards in the squad, the average age was 26.27!

That said, pap’s body might be better than most given his extended holiday with us.

With due respect to his admirers, he was not at his Parra levels most of the time. We tend to fight hard to keep the few good players we have.

If he doesn’t like us, he’ll hate working for Ivan for a living!

The thing is why the hell didn’t we say to the panthers we want a player in exchange, he still had another year to go , but we just roll over claiming oh we have opened a spot for a junior, not been nasty but I am over this kids coming through are champions crap
What kids coming through can play NRL 2nd row next year?
We just got eaten alive last week in both lower grades.

Thats because our best flegg eligible players are playing in NSW Cup or First Grade. We are looking to move our strongest juniors through as quickly as we can and whilst that weakens our squad in the short term, it will have benefits over the longer period.

Because we preferred to have 750k in the cap for next year. Good move. There’s no one in the panthers team we want that would have wanted to come here or even been given permission to sign with us.

Second row is not somewhere many kids will shine early in their career. There’s normally some hard lessons as you are on an island defensively. It’s a big reason I am loving Sam Fainu, such a prospect!

I hope we replace Papali’i with a lesser known player who has 100 games under his belt.

Ok can cross #1 off the list. What will be our next announcement?

2 - Additional 3 independent board directors
3 - Cubs squads for 2024
4 - Some pathways retention signings (hopefully Makasini, Large, Taupau-Moors & Godinet)
5 - Any Top 30 additions which were made prior to July 1
6 - Experienced assistant coach added to the club for season 2025
7 - Stef commits
I'm going to re-post these until we hear news.

What we've heard so far ...

✅ Stadium strategy

It's July 5 & we're still hear key announcements on ...

❓ Additional 3 independent board directors (was supposed to be by now)
❓ Cubs squads for 2024
❓ Some pathways retention signings (hopefully Makasini, Large, Taupau-Moors & Godinet)
❌ Any 30 additions which were made prior to July 1
❓ Experienced assistant coach added to the club for season 2025
❓ Stef commits
❓ New major sponsor for 2025+
❓ Release of players for 2025 (to free up roster spots for any new signings for '25)

I for one thought we'd have filled the board positions by now & would have been able to announce at least 1 pathways signing.

PS. I have seen regular announcements on Instagram from player agents about elite young players signing with clubs (either into top 30 or pathways deals) but nothing about Tigers juniors in months.

I don't think that is a guarantee. IP wasn't playing great at Warriors either.

It is entirely possible that IP peaked at Parramatta and he's not capable of that any more. But I also don't think IP was even that bad at Tigers, just not really the type of player we need right now at that salary.

I can understand fans wanting communication from the club but personally I got so sick of all the noise from the last administration, constantly trying to justify their existence.

The big thing for this club is to win some first grade games in July and August so we can have more chance of signing a few players to improve our roster for next year. If they are focused on that for 2 months I'm fine with that.

There were many interviews of him gish galloping his way through answering/not answering the question about coming to the Tigers. I get not wanting to trash or talk of other teams while playing somewhere else but it went far beyond that.

People have short memories. Ive never seen a better case for signature remorse than this flake. Dude never wanted to come, signed for the Madge and the dollars and couldnt wait to leave the second he stepped foot in the joint. His performances and effort reflect that. Its a shitty thing to say but the best thing about Paps is his injury unearthed Sammy F, already had twice the impact per game than Paps ever showed. Good riddance.
I agree 💯 Winston. He very quickly knew he made a mistake in signing for Wt's.
He said in the interview he needed the boys around him to give 'him' a push [to bring out his best] and he certainly wouldn't have got that from Our mob, as part of his role would have been to inspire the boys around him to bring out 'their' best, and he simply wasn't capable of doing that.

name another one,..anywhere
So we stay at the bottom for the next 5 years while they try and get up to speed .we got some good backs for next year , but with a useless forward pack I can’t see anything changing next year or the year after

Since 2019 we’ve had 63 players play for us. 31 of those have made their debut. Is that a lot?
