He's just done Newcastle knew it, we were desperate enough to take him on. He never offloads anymore he stifles the attack he does his defensive duties but doesnt sting anyone, he still does make meters on the odd occasion but its not anything outstanding.
But with the lack of props and Stefanie moving on we probably have to persist at least for next year.
Pole, Sione, Seyfarth and even Twal are better options but Twal seems to have issues now too.

Bateman made 200 meters and 20 tackles against the best team in the Comp only 2 weeks back from a long term injury and he is tanking. I think that is a new winner of worst post in forum history

Whatever Tigers fans think of Klemmer and Bateman, (also Matamua & Porter, Tumeth), they simply don’t provide enough go forward or dominant defence to justify their spots in any top 8 future Tigers team. We need to work on moving them on for us to open up some spots and improve the impact of our pack.
Of course I could also name 3-4 current backs that we need to rid as well coz we certainly need 2-3 NRL Winger/ Centres.
A handful of real NRL quality players injected into these positions to support Luai and Turuva and the select young stars, will see us finally turn a corner.
Please Richo and Benji, make this happen!!!

I like him but being ruthlessly honest he just doesn’t provide any real impact in A or D. We need roster spots and impactful players that have a competitive winning attitude. Guys who push themselves to 110%. Porter just doesn’t do it.

If Bateman could stop doing clumsy errors and giving away poor penalties he'd be a very good player. As it is he can't. I was really enjoying watching the subtlety and effectiveness of his runs when he just played a simple game but then it was just error after error. I don't think we can carry that.

First step in our rebuild is to get a roster full of players who can play at a first grade standard and have a dig.

Bateman is one of those so we have to persist with him.

Good teams make errors too they just defend them more than we do.

Thats one of his glowing problems, he tries to milk penalties every time he touches the ball. Very very rarely it works but more often than not goes against him, dropped balls etc.

All it does is kill our momentum and slow everything down.

But there are still a lot of optimists here so it wouldn’t surprise me … not that’s necessarily a bad thing …

100% Bateman gives a shit on field , he has a go , tackles his guts out and can take a player out of the game for you , he needs the other players to be doing their job as well , we don’t have that happening each week , we have 3 or 4 players each game playing very average , Richo and Benji need to make some callers very quick and start tapping players to move on plus get some new guys who have a crack into our team , I would upgrade Pole , Try and keep Stef and go grab another front rower and a back rower and a big wingers
