The race for the spoon

The destiny is in our hands. I’m not ruling out Parramatta in this.
If we beat them in the final game this year that should seal it
Agree!
Only 10 more weeks of pain for us

Parra still have a bye in hand..same as us.
They've only 3 home.games.to.go.and.probanly a tougher draw then us

If this was the 100 metres ....admit it folks .....we are Usain Bolt .......
The 37 year-old soccer player version, not the former sprinter

Yeah, we always do so well in must win games, just like milestone and memorial games that we don't bother to show-up for.

Face it, we own the spoon, we are incapable of avoiding it. Our only chance is if another team has an implosion of biblical proportions and deny us the opportunity to respond with our own spoon clinching meltdown.

I think you missed the point .....we are hands down favourites of winning the spoon

Are there any squads getting considerably weaker next season?

We might get the spoon this year, but we cannot afford it next season otherwise our future is doomed.

Could it come down to that last game against the Eels ?

Unlikely … but both teams could lose out in the meantime

Two of the bottom 4 won and 2 of them lost on the weekend.
Souths have put a 3 wins gap themselves, us and Parra. As we both have a bye in hand still, that lead is really 2 wins.
Titans now have a 1 win lead over us and Parra including the byes we have.
Interesting round coming up with another game between 2 bottom 4 sides. Titans have the opportunity to extend their gap to 2 wins if they beat Parra and with us taking on a strong Sharks side, likely us as well. If Souths do win over the Dolphins, we can pretty much rub them out of the race for the spoon.

At the moment it looks like a race between the two teams with 12 losses, Tigers and Eels. Titans, coming off 2 wins, have an opportunity to keep it that way this round.

I still think the Titans have the hardest run home. If Tigers or Parramatta get the spoon, they well and truly deserve it.

Didn't we already get both our byes? Or is it 3 byes this year?
It’s 3 apparently. I really hate that we’re gonna get this bloody thing again. I’m praying like heck that we don’t, but the writing is on the wall, imo. We are definitely the most vulnerable. It must be so demoralising for the players and the club, not to mention us supporters.

Yes they do have a tough run home, but they’re not such a bad team on their day. They’ve beaten Broncos and Sharks, both are on their run home. 4 of their losses have been close games..4 points or less.
I really can’t see Rabbits being a contender. Have won their last 5 games. They got the coach they wanted. Back on track now.

Yeah Rabbits are pretty much out of the race already. Far too much experience and too strong of a roster for last place.
Titans...if they win against Parra and we lose against Sharks, thatll mean we have to win 3 more games than them over the last 2 months...likely enough to ensure they dont get it. If we beat Sharks and Parra beat Titans, its game on and a tough road for the GC lads.
The results this weekend will have a fair weight on the final result.

Eels are pretty much in the same frame as Rabbitohs now that they have a coach, but it remains to be seen if Ryles can give them the immediate fillip like Wayne did to Bunnies. Maybe Ryles is a better coach than player?
The spoon is as hotly contested as the GF.

I remember the year we nearly got the spoon but Titans managed to beat us out for the prize on points differential, but I think they just have too good a team to get the spoon this year.

I think Titans can win a couple more games despite the fact that they have often been under achievers, and unfortunately Souffs have hit a bit of form and are far enough ahead on the table for them to be a chance for the spoon.

I'm afraid that we will be fighting it out for the spoon with the Eels and it may very well come down to the Round 27 showdown at Cambo to decide who wins the booby prize.

Fire up boys and show the slimy scum that Cambo is our house and there is nothing I would like better than seeing them get the spoon and Moses and Gutho chucking a tantrum and abusing their team mates and Parramatta Management over their train wreck of a season.
