OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

Not sure I agree based on what I've watched this year. The older more experienced players are the disappointing ones. A lot of them are on big money adding Stef. Meanwhile, younger guys like Pole are consistent every week. I think we need 2 more big signings to get out of the bottom 4 next year (particularly centre or prop), a change of coach with John Morris taking the reigns (he did fantastic for sharks there) and a culture shift. By keeping the 'losers' of the past teams that have won spoons the culture will not change, there has to be a freshness that the juniors are bringing along with some more key signings. Of course, that doesn't help given our feeder team is coming last in NSW cup. We are likely to win the spoon again, but a lot of that can be changed by attitude, regardless of our roster, and our 'big names' let us down more than the young guys
If that were the case then why not forget about bringing in experienced players?
The last 6 seasons have seen 31 debutants, some of them have been good, not all. Thats almost 50% of the roster.
What we do know about those 2 groups is they are both motivated by opportunity. Either to play NRL..,or to get a pay rise based on reputations built at other clubs.
We desperately need to change this perception of the club.

Get Lauai on the phone to Stef , maybe that will give the big unit some confidence as Lauai seems to have plenty of it and may help get him to stick around for 4 more years

Who are? What bullshit.
You do realise we’ve lost 12 games this year so far?
No one has been consistently good including and up to Api.
Sam Fainu barring the last 2 weeks has been great all year. Pole has been good all year. The big money guys haven't delivered. Api has had some very poor games if you watch games closely and don't just watch highlights.

yeah … I made a typo … he can sign the deal at the end of next season for 2027… fact remains the Tigers have got next year only to convince him to stay
Yep very true, I think Crichton has been quite important to bulldogs this year. Hoping Jerome brings some of the same quality and values next year Galvin can learn off.

I know, I said that.
If you’ve watched closely, they’ve all been shit at different times all year.
Sam’s been good, not great. Same goes for most of them. A lot were calling for Pole to be dropped not too long ago.

I don't think everyone's been shit. Pole hasn't. A quiet game off the bench here or there isn't too bad. Fainu has been very good and dangerous all season except the last 2 games. It is pretty hard to be consistent in a team like this, especially as a rookie

That’s my point. So why are you trying to say they are?

i see a lot of comparisons to Critta but it's completely different. He's walked into a team with Gus, Ciraldo (great defensive coach), and a number of penrith players with marquee players all over the field with 'utility' depth throughout the club. We have an untried rookie coach, an ageing marquee hooker, so many rookies, overpaid ageing and unmotivated players. They signed tupouniua who is currently playing great footy out of position at centre. They were a bottom team like us not long ago, but they've set the platform. We need to find our identity
