Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Alaimalo is turning 30 next year, why would we both pinning our hopes on him. Time for someone younger and fitter to step up. Every single other club finds them, we just have the absolute worst recruitment team in the comp

One minute it's younger blokes on the up, Next minute it's older blokes that have done nothing in years?

The fact there's any debate over so many nuftys really shows you how low we've been....

The bar is way low …guess that’s what 12 wins in 70 games brings ….

Has been the Achilles heel of the tigers recruitment for some time

Whether or not he's a moron, why would anyone take advice about Wests Tigers from Gorden Tallis? Bloke has absolutely zero association with the club, either by himself or by association with any of the major players at Tigers.

Could not identify a media personality with less influence or connections at/to Tigers if I tried. Might as well get an opinion on Tigers from Vlad Putin or Britney Spears.
Or even back door Benny. 🤣

29 by the end of next season. Obviously he would be a short term option until we develop or sign someone better. All I'm saying is he improved with the game time he had. Big and tall, started reading the defence well, worked hard coming out of our end and finished well. All this with a very limited preparation. He has to be an option unless we sign someone.

It does have a slow look to it on paper but It actually isn't. Douehi outran Weekes, Lobb chased down Alan Fitzgibbon, Turuva and Bula aren't slow. It a deceptively quick backline.
I think tackle breaking ability is our weakness in the backs more so than speed. Creating tries out of thin air doesn’t seem to happen for us.

Throw it to Mitchell, To’o, Manu or Walsh when nothings on and generally they scare the opposition.

Entrance Tigers.
Plays in the Newy Comp.

Blake Austin, David Fifita and Tony pellow are playing for them at the moment.
Just out of ignorance and interest, what sort of money do these guys get paid ?
Assuming they don’t do it for love ?
PS I think you mean Andrew Fifita or has Des let DF go ? No wonder Slater won’t pick him 🤣🤣🤣

Andrew Fifitas twin bro, David.

I'm not sure of wages but knew a lad who played for Lakes United and he was paid $1000 a game, no matter the result.

They mostly work jobs.
Heard Blake Austin say he's working at a high school on the Central Coast that has a targeted sports program.

I've been critical of Charlie Staines most weeks, but I have to admit, he is playing pretty well this season. If he is the #2 winger, he's a decent option.

Turuva is the new winger next season. The re-emergence of Doueihi pretty much seals that for mine.
Chad, I’m struggling to get past the reality that Adam only made two passes in the entire game on the weekend

There is a deep insight in this comment.

The Tigers are a club that for years gambled as a way of making decisions.

Benji as coach with zero experience is the best example. But there are loads of others. They gamble that payers with a crazy amount of injury will have a better run at the Tigers. Reynolds is an obvious example.

You even see it with previous hero’s and juniors versus Faatape. Faatape (apologies spelling) played solid in his early appearances. Instead of letting him stay in role we dropped him and gambled on others.

Second to that we have a history of shafting people. It started with Sheens years ago. Then it was verbal commitments on money not followed through, then it was trying to push people out who were on contact (clashes included).

We then wonder why players shaft us.

I don’t remember players shafting us until we shafted Sheens. At least not like our recent run has been.
