Coaches? Players? Management?

Yes but your claim “we don’t have a quality roster” seems at odds with this. Guys we didn’t seem essential and let go are filling spots with Premiership contenders and winners every year. Next year will be no different.
Tupou will thrive with Dolphins, Papali’i will kill it with Penrith as will Stef at Melbourne should they get him.
We do have enough good players to win many more games than we do.
How's Brooks going? After a couple of good early games, he's back to mediocrity. Talau is getting tries but wingers score form opportunities, which are clearly better at Manly. Pappy and Ado-Carr barely played first grade before they were snapped up. Stef will have his moments, but he'll never be a workhorse. He's not half the player Haas is, but he's 75% of the cost.

Brooks is playing well. An ordinary game is the exception rather than the rule these days.
Melbourne won’t pay Stef his asking price. Only we do that.

Does he get 100k / Year Origin payments at the Storm that he won't at the Tigers though?
Even if he can't, And they can sell it to him that he will would be a factor you'd think?

How much of a pay cut would you take? 100k is like 12% which is probably worth a grand final, but anything less than $600k per season for him from Melbourne warrants an investigation.

$600k plus Bellamy plus shithot roster plus possible rep…..he’ll take it

It’s a good point, however the 3 guys you mentioned have not shown themselves to be the sort of players to stand up, take the lead on field and play 110% effort games consistently even when the guys around them aren’t. The teams you mentioned such as Storm and Panthers have all the points I wrote about in my post covered, including players like Cleary, Yeo, JFH, Martin, Hughes, Paps, Munster, Grant etc etc etc.- leaders and winners. These guys set the standards and carry their team forward every week challenging the Utos, Ice and Tupous of the NRL to follow them.
Further it’s a combination of the points I mentioned not specifically 1 in isolation. If there was a straightforward simple answer I am sure that smarter more experienced guys than me (Richo) would have all the answers.
Final comment on your point about we should be winning more games - if each individual in our best 17 team played together consistently with their absolute maximum effort, intent and will in every game, then we would win more games. I am sure each individual at WTs could not testify to doing that.

Didn't see it, but Turbo ran amok apparently, so maybe some rubbed off on Brooks.
This is the ultimate example of our problem. Brooks is not the marked man at Manly, which means more space and more opportunities.

This is the elite rugby league competition on the planet. If you don’t have elite (or at the very least consistent) players in almost every position you are off the pace of the best teams.

That’s where we are at.

Sorry, I mistook Turbo for Talau. Turbo had a great game, looked like the Turbo of old. I’m getting a bit confused these days !
Without looking the stats up, Tommy Turbo’s impact on Manly is a lot like the days of Joey In Newcastle. With him they win, without him, they’re pretty awful.

We used Brooks incorrectly almost the entire time he was here. Manly are using him in a way that showcases his strengths.

I think he’s a six too.

But, we still lost when Madge moved him to six even though we did look better with him outside Hastings.

The big difference between here and Manly is the classy players the opponent has to worry about, freeing him up to just be a role player.

I see Bateman’s having the same issues here, overplaying his hand to compensate for everyone else’s problems.

Do we know where Wests Ashfield prefers them to play …Leichhardt or Cambo?
Some people have pretended that former Wests Tigers players who have been released are not playing better at their new clubs … sorry but that is utter BS ..

I don’t know what the explanation is … several of these guys played under Maguire who we know is at least mid level coach … but he couldn’t get anything out of them either ..
I think the problem with the Barns group is they want to run it like a club. The board appointed to wrst tigers should see fit to run it like a sports organisation. Where trophies are counted like profits. Until they get there we won't.
