Stefano Utoikamanu #241

Its crazy it's dragged on this long.

$4 million over 5 years, guaranteed, no matter how crap I play, I'd be snapping that up in a heart beat.

The tigers also have great facilities at concord, the dogs set up is dogsh1t.

The kid played state of origin one year and has some stat's that play in his favour. But as majority of pundits who have played the game are saying, he's still unproven and hasn't stepped up when the tigers needed him (unlike haas who did for the broncos when they got the spoon).

If he leaves, I hope for his sake it doesn't come back and bite him on the ass. If he goes to the dogs I think it may. Dogs fans will turn on him quick if he doesnt perform straight away. The storm is less risk, but he says goodbye to his family life in Sydney.

At the end of the day the tigers have tabled an incredibly generous offer. I am somewhat glad we aren't panicking and throwing more at him (like we would have in the past).
Also we can include a few rounds of golf…seems to work well elsewhere.

We contradict ourselves.... yes NAS according to Hooper - is not wanted at Wests.... too big..
I’ve been around the block a few times, it seems obvious that he’s informed us he’s on Wednesday (as agreed) that he’s not staying and will be signing elsewhere - so in order to not damage morale in a touring environment against the Warriors it’s been put on hold for an announcement next week when we’re back on home soil.

Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo has confirmed the club has an interest in Tigers prop Stefano Utoikamanu as speculation continues around where he'll end up.

Utoikamanu is free to negotiate with rivals due to clauses in his contract with Melbourne, the Dolphins, Raiders and Dragons all previously expressing interest, along with the Tigers.
Melbourne, the Dolphins and Tigers were believed to be the clubs most likely to sign him, however the Bulldogs have been a smokey.

"I think we're in a really good position as a club where we've got a lot of good kids coming through and we've also got space for potential guys to come in if they're the right person and right fit for our club," Ciraldo told media on Thursday.

"Stefano is a really good player. He's got a lot of potential and we're monitoring that situation. If he'd like to come here then we'd welcome him with open arms.

"We're really happy with the people that we've got here. We've added Sitili for next year and a lot of our guys are developing.

"No one is at their potential yet. All our guys are still getting better every day, and every season they play they'll get even better.
"If we do add a guy like Stefano then that's great, but if not, I'm really happy with who we've got here."

Storm coach Craig Bellamy was none the wiser on where the prop would end up.
"We've had our discussions and at the end of the day he's got a decision to make. Everyone makes decisions on what's going to suit them and what's the best outcome for them and we'll just let Stefano do that," he said.

"We'd like to have him here without a doubt ... I'm sure he'll make the best decision for him and his family."

The Tigers are currently undergoing a roster overhaul but can ill afford to lose a talent like Utoikamanu, although it will give them significant power in the player market.

Second-rower John Bateman will head to Warrington immediately, with that deal running until the end of the season before he returns next year.

Speaking from New Zealand ahead of his side's clash with the Warriors, Tigers coach Benji Marshall indicated Bateman would be back but was unsure how the club stood with Utoikamanu.

"I don't know ... we're still waiting for him to make a decision," he said.
"We're here to play a game, I know everyone wants to know all these things about what's happening but our focus while we're here is about the game.

"After the game we deal with those sorts of things but we'd love to keep Stefano ... we've just to go out and play our game."

If we cared about morale we would have dropped the pillow to reggies a couple of months back. More likely Stefani wants an all expenses paid holiday in New Zealand before he starts his new job after his gap year.

I think the Magpies are playing in Auckland as well tomorrow ,,,would have been over there anyway

I thought I read on here that he has informed the WT he has signbed with the strom for 3 years....

I just don't get why WT player contract negotiations are always drama filled and string out for weeks and months. Other clubs seem to sign players much quicker and with much much less fanfare than us.

Be interesting to know if the 10 day right of reply period kicks in given he isn’t an off contract player

Still get the dogs for him if he wants to win a premiership.
The spine is one of the worst and they have had some great luck with ref's this year which has them in the 8.

I would take Bula, Galvin, Laui and Api over them every day of the week

My personal opinion is we should tell him our offer will be Withdrawn if his decision not given to us by Tuesday 4pm one way or the other, the Club needs to know, So it can decide what we are going to do about replacing him, and so WEST TIGER Supporter's can move past this one way or the other, our feelings about what he is doing don't seem to matter, like Moses did, This goat is using us as a bargaining tool.

HE IS WITH US OR AGAINST US.
MAKE A DECISION ASAP AND BE DONE WITH THIS SHIT,
WE WANT TO BE DOING POSITIVE STUFF AND MOVING FORWARD, THIS STUFF IS DRAGGING US BACKWARD.
