How new is the new board? I heard there’s some familiar faces still present? The old board that sacked themselves put Benji there. The new board inherited this mess.
Appreciate what Kade has to report, but don't read TOOOOOOO much into it & assume things.
Bleak player market/off contract doesn't mean we are likely to lose players.
There's possibly very good reason for the Bateman thing.
10 rounds to 'turn things around' could be anything.
And asking Kade for more details is like saying 'your inside source isn't telling me enough gossip'. I'm sure if he had it to share, he would.
Ease up on him already!
Gawd…it’s going to be a wild ride on a shit smothered slippery dip.Richo has got a plan … think it involves the youth
Yep.I don’t assume anything I read here … 95 percent BS … and the other 5 percent is people taking educated guesses…
I thought we only had an interim board.a few little dramas in the last few weeks
to elaborate
- the board is applying pressure around marshall, richo supports him, internally they want to see progression with our playing group and believe they havent seen enough this year
- the player market is grim, the competition is in a very transitional phase where those big name
players are getting older and those younger stars of tommorow have already be signed
- i think big nelson ends up here next year, no actual mail on this though
The way Gus works, Bulldogs are likely to be talking up Stefano to make the Tigers to pay MAXIMUM salary, whilst hoping we are keen to offload Klemmer paying half his wage desperate for a culture change. The Bulldogs have recruited very smartly to obtain players such as Josh Curran who was unwanted and released by the Warriors, but has long shown good potential and mentioned by many posters on here that he would have been an ideal recruit for Wests Tigers.
I don’t think his contract value would be above 250k but moving forward he will be worth much more.
Jacob Preston was signed as a virtual unknown from the Roosters NSW Cup team. He was stuck behind many quality back rowers at the Roosters, but scored plenty of tries and made plenty of line breaks while playing NSW Cup, which showed he had plenty of ability,
Jacob Kiraz was unwanted by the Bulldogs and went to the Knights in search of opportunity, before returning back to the Bulldogs. When playing NSW Cup for the Knights he was regularly in the NSW Cup Team of the Week regularly making over 150m making plenty of tackle breaks and scoring plenty of tries, so the writing was on the wall he was an NRL star in waiting.
Brunson Xerri was a powerllh built, fast & athletic young star at the Sharks before his ban for steroid use. It was highly likely he had not lost his talent and would return to the game better than ever with more age and maturity.
Toby Sexton was another young star at the Titans who also starred as a schoolboy alongside Tom Dearden. Even while in and out of the Titans NRL team he always showed glimpses of his talent with a very good kicking game and game management skills. Another who quite a few posters on here called for the Wests Tigers to sign when we were in desperate need of a controlling halfback.
Kurt Mann was mainly playing off the bench at the Knights, but was showing he was one of the rare players who could play 13 as a genuine link man, but also big enoug, fast enough and tough enough to run the ball well when required and also tackle with venom,
Connor Tracey could not get a regular NRL spot with the Sharks, but was regularly starring at NSW Cup level and whenever he got a rare NRL start. He’s another that many posters on her were wanting Wests Tigers to sign.
To think all of these players who are proving to be high quality NRL players and an integral part of the Bulldogs success are all unlikely to be contracted to any more than a maximum of 250k per season.
However with the Bulldogs talking up their chances of signing Stefano, you would hope Richo is the phone to all the managers of the players listed above making them well aware their contract values are way below their true value and a club like Wests Tigers could happily pay them a lot more.
...and what is the extent of this clash? A senior player and his coach getting testy with each other in the changerooms after a poor loss, with emotions still high?Probably too close too it (given the clash they had).
Heard that too, that’s why Benji is fast tracking Lauli’i hoping that Luai won’t notice the difference!Heard To'o wants to play with Luai
What is his height, weight, age etc.Navren Willet is another who will probably see a debut sometime this year or next. When he played in the trials this year he handled the physicality pretty well, I’d say probably still a bit away but watching the NSW cup he used his height (6”7) greatly to his advantage. Again defensively seems to be a bit of a struggle so I’d say until he can be more consistent I doubt Benji will chuck him in.
Onto someone who deserves a debut now Tim Johanssenn. This bloke has been great in NSW cup the whole year and in the game against the warriors scored the game winning try. I’d like to repeat that he’s been doing it this whole year so it’s not just a one off. Drop Stef for this week to focus on contract talks etc and chuck this bloke in. I hope we can sign him cause it’d be a major oversight to let him go. He is fit, fast and strong something we lack aside from Pole.
These are his stats from this year:
12 Appearances
2 Tries
38 Tackle Breaks
10 Offloads
133 Average RM
90% Tackle Efficiency

Wrong. Those arse clowns have never been responsible for anything. It’s always everyone else not aiming up.The board has no right to pressure Benji yet. Those arse clowns are responsible for him being there.
Medical retirement sounds good. What if it can be fixed but he dont want to due to cultural convictions?
