Our BIGGEST problem is we're not a development club.

We just like to pretend we are.

We do not develop players into better versions of themselves. Players join the club at a certain level and leave the club either at that same level or even worse than when they joined us.

That is why we can't recruit. Players routinely get worse here, which means the cap is wasted, we can't compete against other clubs and are stuck in a perpetual cycle of crap.

We need to become a professional club. Having a shiny COE does not make us professional by default. We need better coaches, better trainers, we need players who will build a culture of excellence that other players want to buy into. We need to recruit players with the physical skillsets to make an impression in the NRL and be ruthless on juniors who don't have these traits. Players must earn NRL contracts through outstanding performances in Flegg and or NSW Cup.

We announced in 2021, that we were launching our Development Program and that we were about to become a Pathways Club.

Anyone know of any truth to Meriton becoming the major sponsor of 2025? Some guy on Facebook sprouting it as gospel

When Lee H got punted, he had a whinge about Richo calling other potential sponsors to see if they could fill the void if Brydon Lawyers pulled the pin early.

I wouldn't be surprised if Richo did chat with Harry and potentially lined something up for 2025.

It sucks. Because we built a monster pack in Paps, Klemmer and Bateman. We should have been steamrolling teams but hey some people don't want to work for a 6 figure paycheck.

I also suspect he will go good but not great at the Riff. He is replacing James FH and those are HUGE shoes to fill. Could be a lot like when we brought Blare. Meh we will see.

I’ve posted on here before that Ice is a typical Eels player. Look how they performed this year without Moses most of the team was average without him leading them around. Ice has no impact without an amazing half getting him the ball at the right time. He can’t play like a Sam Fainu and make his own opportunities.

Batemans form since he joined us is basically what he had in SL. Didn’t get better or worse.

I think a lot of decisions are made by the daughter now and not Harry so a bit of wait and see.

Wests HM went undefeated and got done in the gf unfortunately
Wests SG ball was missing all their players to higher grades

NSW cup has its best players injured or in first grade
Flegg has all their best players in cup cause injury’s and shit

NRLW are 1 game in hardly a fair representation of them
Harvey Norman girls are only a couple rounds in as well and a very young team
If you wanna do that stuff out Lisa Fiola girls made the GF
So give it a rest

I didn’t say he wouldn’t want the job if it was available but it’s not. Tigers are sticking with Benji for at least another season and by that time Arthur would have to move to Perth where his wife’s family is from and start recruiting for 2027.
