Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Turuva at fullback is a big no. Lacks the ball skills & has no real vision, he is more like a bull rush player lol give him the ball & just let him run

Agree.

Have watched Turuva for years and been wanting us to grab him. He isn’t a ball player/create something out of nothing type. He is 100% all effort/workhorse type of player who does work on his game, makes minimal mistakes & puts his body on the line. At his age he only has upside based on his hunger alone.

He can fill in at fullback if needed but Staines at the Panthers totally out played him at fullback which saw him shift to centers. I think center is Turuva better position, he does have a nice left/right pass & does run a in/away line which can draw the winger in especially because of his strength. He will be a hitup a set type player for us. His defensive reads needs work but he has the right intent/technique which is a better start than most.

I am concerned with his current form the last 2mths, he does look out of sorts (maybe injured) for his usual playing style. Have noticed he comes infield alot more rather than direct / barge style.

Sadly Paps never wanted to be here. We found a club willing to take him at full freight and we released him. Fair enough I think.

For some perspective, I think if more was available on the market, nobody would care.
......Asked if he felt he had reached the bar he set during his barnstorming two seasons at the Eels, Papali’i said: “To be honest, probably not, I think I’ve struggled to find form.

“That led to me asking for a definitive answer on whether my future was here.

“I think the club as a whole was trying to find their feet, you can tell that by the results and I think that’s what ‘Richo’ is doing.

“He is making some bold moves and that’s a credit to him because he’s doing it in the right way.......

“For me it’s just been a struggle, (having) a few different halves and I guess the club is trying to build a foundation here.

“I wanted to make sure my job was secure post 2025 and there wasn’t an answer for that.

“I don’t think it was whether I wanted to stay or go, I wanted to know I was part of the picture, but we both agreed my form wasn’t the best.”

Won’t be shocked in the slightest if Brian To’a is in Wests Tigers colours next year.
You would have to think Dogs are not in this one as they have a great backs and only so many shares in pubs you can give out.
He is also best mates with Laui i believe

Dogs saving their last remaining cap space for middles - they won’t be interested. Unless they get rid of Fox but even then they’ll pay quite the portion. Maybe St George or Parramatta could be threats as I don’t see him leaving Sydney.

Luai was his best man at his wedding but Turuva was also one of his groomsmen and they’re also very close.

We need backs and his the best winger in the comp easily.

If Benji and Richo somehow pull this off…. then wow our ability to recruit has gone a long way.

If there is any possibility at all of To'oleaving Penrith then I think we'd be a massive chance. We have the money to pay overs, he won't have to move house and he can car pool to and from training with one of his best mates.
More than a massive chance, if he is leaving the Panthers it would only be to play with his best mates at Wests Tigers.
