Stefano Utoikamanu #241

Wherever he goes i hope he never wins a premiership or at least WTs win one before he does. I feel the same with all the glory hunters that have left before him so it's nothing personal.
Stephanie:
“ the hardest decision of my life”
“ I love this club, coaches and the boys”
“ it’s not about winning a premiership”

Then why in hell is he leaving???

His IQ is that of a snails belly

I've said it lots of times before and the best place for Creepy Crawley would be in the bottom of a swimming pool somewhere, preferably attached to an Early Kooka.

That is so specific, i feel like you have definitely done this to someone and think about it every day... Not through any guilt or remorse, but you saw it on Antiques Roadshow go for half a million. Let it go mate.

More money, will win games on a more regular basis and can get mentored and improved.

Lets part on good terms and let Stef go elsewhere. Lets start thinking "we can welcome people back".

Guys like Galvin are going to want to play in top 8 teams. We will loose some of them. There should be a path back for those that perform.

Out of the big name signings they got Mahoney, Kikau and Crichton.

JAC and Burton were a while ago so not sure if they were part of the new admin group at the time.

We got Api, Papali'i, Bateman and Luai.

Don't see much difference in the marquee signings personally.

The difference is the signing of guys like Curran, Tracey, King and Mann who likely set a very good standard at training followed by a coach who knows how to develop guys like Preston and Kiraz to be able to perform properly week in week out.
I personally think that run of Burton, Kikau, Crichton, Mahoney, JAC, Tupouniua, Ciraldo and now possibly Stefano is a more substantive recruitment drive (all since 2022) compared to Api, Luai, Bateman, IP, Klemmer, Olam.

Luai may be the best signing of the lot but obviously hasn't played a game for Tigers yet, so we are yet to see what having both Api and Luai can do for us.

I think also Dogs got better value for their top signings than Tigers so far. Turns our IP and Bateman were more risky than we initially may have thought (Bateman perhaps was always a question-mark), also Klemmer has been average.

Whereas Burton, Kikau and Crichton have absolutely maintained their form at Canterbury.

Don't know why the Leichhardt crowd were so lenient with him last night, must have felt sorry for the pathetic pea heart.

Was expecting them to give it to him big time but I expect it was probably more out of respect for some of the players that came out in his support before the game.
The crowd knew he would start crying if they went too hard.

They were also hitting or at their prime… our recruits were trending downhill.. and that’s what we got

I wish we kept him. I understand his leaving and he hasn't been great but I get it. We have been proper bad his whole time here and I'm sure he contributes that to missing out on origin somewhat. I think if he goes to the doggies he will still be an above average prop but if he goes to Melbourne he could be anything. I also don't think the tiges are that good at developing talent and that could also contribute. I still feel like he could be P Hass lite with the right coach.
He wants to keep learning. Growing. Plying his trade with the best. What does that say for our juniours coming up from the ranks. What is the message he leaves.

You seemed to suggest in your previous post that there was something shady going on with their recruitment since the new owners came into play.

I'm just suggesting that they have recruited similarly to us in terms of $$ but have recruited smarter and got more out of their signings because of a better coaching staff and probably better support from Gould and co.
