Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Defs reckon we should have a sniff at Val , haven’t had a centre in 10 years. Olam, I think he is cooked. Val still got form, kick goals , luai is gunna need some darts and aggressive runners.
Young seve from dogs - clickbait? Dogs won’t let that big boy go. Been over it, Taylan not guilty - worth a conversation. Swiss Timmy - didn’t look too bad . Faagatu will come good.

Off-season unfortunately all we got to look forward too.

We are getting good value out of players like Porter and Seyfarth. Interesting that some of our bigger names have not produced. I have been a Seyfarth fan for many years especially when he was the forum target. I believe he has what it takes to be the forward leader albeit he is playing from the interchange bench. His discipline in not reacting to the aggressive reaction of the cowboy's player was a big improvement. I hope he continues his incremental improvement.

I’m checking on poker tournaments in Sydney as we speak just in case I need an excuse for Mrs BF to go to Sydney for the week. There plenty of room for Hopgood, a Haas, a Crighton, Martin, I reckon I could squeeze them all in.
Haha, you might have to get yourself a fedora to fit all those signatures on 🤭

It was a bad miss by Porter on Dearden when he scored, but he definitely redeemed himself with some great ball running in the second half.
I cannot remember the last time we had anyone on our right edge running the ball as dangerously as what Porter did. Let’s hope that is the confidence boost he needed to start producing that type of ball running on a regular basis and also eliminate his missed tackles.

I think it’s a joint effort because Richo has said a few times that it’s his and the clubs job to get Benji the players he wants.

Then it seems to be for the chosen roster, they have 7 weeks at the start of the year to justify their selection.

Critically, the other part of the program has been to blood younger players and while we are not winning, we are seeing players like Sam, Pole, Galvin really starting to find their feet in first grade.

There’s going to be mistakes, but the idea is to minimise them.

Remember in the interview that Richo said that Benji was much more forgiving and positive with the young guys but more truthful ( ie critical) of the senior players.

Stef has gone, he wants to hold a trophy sooner rather than later. That was more important to him than committing to the struggle. Some players are like that.

But the chance to be a club legend has now slipped past him.

I’ve seen interviews with Tui, hes still amazed at the love and respect he gets from our club, members and fans. It’s eternal, better than a trophy.

He will never walk alone for a second of his days.

I believe he still struggles to walk.
He’s a legend and no Tigers fan who saw him play will ever forget him.
If I were in a position to help him walk freely again I’d do it for free. Dora would have to pay overs.

They need to be the only players from our top 30 to remain in our top 30 after 2026

Massive cleanout needs to happen ASAP

When you look at that Roosters team yesterday, it is disheartening to see how many rep quality players they have compared to us

J. Tedesco, J. Sualii, D. Tupou, J. Manu, Dom Young, S. Walker, L. Keary, S. Leinu, B. Smith, L. Collins, A. Chrichton, C. Watson, T. May etc

All walk up starts in our team

Play the ball Buttsy, when you play the man you can expect 10 in the Bin. Stefano is one of the best front rowers in the game and Richo was visibly upset that he couldn’t retain him. I can understand you echoing Richo’s sentiments but because he acted like a spoilt brat doesn’t mean it’s right to follow him down that path.
The real problem is that Stef gave us 3 full seasons to get our act together and we took away his hopes and aspirations. Stefano is leaving because he wants to be a better player and I applaud the guy for that.
You truly believe Stefano is one of the best front rowers in the game, 20/40?
What's your opinion based on, in terms of his performance?

Stef has definitely shown he can be good, I think everyone’s opinion is based mostly on potential. I’m sure that’s what bellend can see and reckons he can coach him to be better. I hope it ends poorly for them, but I don’t think it will.

That avatar is my members hat with Jerome Luai’s first ever Tigers autograph. I got it after he walked out of the press conference when he announced his Tigers contract signing. I was staying at the casino playing poker that week.
I have been dining out on that story for 6 months, Mrs Buttface is sick of hearing it.
I'm surprised your wife didn't keep her maiden name, no offence.

In a team like we have it’s too easy to call out players for not lifting their weight. Our smallest player makes the most tackles and also misses twice as many as anyone. He plays in the middle, what does that tell you? There’s more than one middle not happy. I can understand why some form the view that he’s an average prop, but I’ve seen what he is capable of and so has Richo. Richo by his own admission was prepared to offer overs to keep him. Why? Because he’s only 24 , big strong fast and can have impact in the middle, centralising opposition defence, breaking tackles. We need 2 or 3 middles like that To win games. Sure he has the skill, he’s a footy player, but it’s not enough to enjoy your footy, and that’s where the extra 5% comes from. I’ve seen a lot of our players in the same predicament. Look at Brooks and Talau.
