I think the Luai signing broke the cycle. His motivation seems quite clear and it is certainly different to the motivation of past signings.

We have . Jahrome Luai . It’s a circuit breaker , and he’s brought Turuva with him . Both were highly sought after , which even with Api and Ice , neither was defined as “sought after “ . Most teams had issues with whether Api was done , and Ice was a flash in the pan /system player .
Both those 2 signings can be a catalyst if we are wise . And with Richo I have a lot of faith that we can be . If it was dum dum , and the mr buy yourself a radio segment , then I’d have faith we were going to screw it up .

Who thought Api was done? Thats news to me. No one ever said that. At all.

I actually disagree . But not because I drink the coollade , or I’m a Benji Stan . I actually think he’s the perfect personality type to lead the club. We really need a career assistant like , dare I say it … Jason Taylor (never again) .
I think the Premier League Manager type structure is proven to be the most successful . It’s just about getting the right people in the right positions .

The difference between the 2 pairs of signings is that we’re not planning on sacking the coach before they get here. So that could make a big difference too?

That was the common “feeling “ in the nrl re. The negotiation of his contract with us . Hence the low price for the best hooker in the game . Turns out it was all nonsense , but , yea , that was rub . If you want to put it another way , “his best footy was behind him” .
The “fact ” he could no longer play 80 mins , the way Cleary was using him etc.
like I said it was all nonsense , but yea , that was the rub / fear .

He got sacked because yelling at guys flat out gets old quick . Simples…. It works in Origin , cutting snakes heads off and shit , but not in the grind , unless you win the nrl lotto and somehow stumble into a team of people where it does .
Seriously it was 3 years ago . And nearly no one thinks it was a mistake Z the mistake was not hiring Benji as an assistant to a competent 2024 nrl coach . Not sacking Madge . Jesus Christ ….

There’s definitely an East Tigers / Richo connection there without anything official but are we just looking in our ‘own’ backyard for talent.
wouldn’t we be better off setting up a pathways through Easts and recruiting from Queensland schools / Queensland secondary grades into Easts to flow into the WTs on T&T if need be.
The same way Anderson, MacDonald, Garlick all started their careers with Melbourne?

This is a long term project, our very first proper rebuild. I don't think Richo can get it done within his 4.5 year term. But he will get it done just on how long it takes.
