Depending If you need a centre/winger or a centre/ lock. As centres, I reckon Gagai, but he would want bucket loads, and he needs his opponents to be wearing a sky blue or black/white/orange jersey to play great footy. He’s not as broken as bird.So silly questino for this thread.
Would you rather sign Jack Bird or Dane Gagai?
Id rather Kobie HetheringtonFrizell would prefer to remain in Newcastle however I think he understands in order to play consistent football these next 2-3 years he’d probably have to go elsewhere with Lucas and Pearce-Paul’s rise.
Newcastle have made both him and Dane Gagai available due to salary cap restrictions as well.
Gagai looking likely to go to the Roosters.
I wonder if he'd be able to cover prop if needed as well? It’s what I’m hearing.
Frizell is a serious chance of being at the club by next year.
I personally like it - has the experience and is a leader, you can never question his effort he’s the perfect role model you’d want who’ll lead by action. He’d go really good next to Luai with that mindset.
He still is playing great football and won’t be on an overpaid or long deal as well.
Probably personal preferences. So he didn’t play for the dogs then?
Balmain is closer to the entrance?
I can’t understand what would stop him.
Seriously though this is the sort of signing I’d rather see than Bird.
Although I do know we could do with some experience.
I wanna piece of them tackle breaks 😂Ok fair enough I see your point
Tyson Frizell vs Sharks
75mins played
123 Tackle Breaks
Who’s to say we can’t have both?Id rather Kobie Hetherington
Heyherington is the qld dummy halves son right ? He was a tough bastard from memory ?Who’s to say we can’t have both?
Horsbrough, Frizell and Kobie Hetherington would be great additions to our pack in 2025.
Bit of youth, potential and experience.
It’s not a wests tigers fault .So he didn’t play for the dogs then?

Yeah, son of Jason Hetherington - tough as nails old school hooker for the dogs.Heyherington is the qld dummy halves son right ? He was a tough bastard from memory ?
I think he’s a hybrid 13/9 who’s more a lock nowadays . Like a victor radley type ? Obviously held back by Carrigan.
Who’s to say we can’t have both?

Hate on him and bag him all you like, but to say he is not even starting at the dragons is just a lie, he starts every week he is fit, he is starting five eighth this week, as he was last weekBird is NOT the word!!!
He’s not even starting for the dragqueens? That says it all for me.
This is a typical crap retirement signing we usually make. I was hoping we’d changed. Bird knows his days are numbered in the NRL, and we need the spots, I would be low balling him. Two years with a club option on the second.
He’d be an upgrade on Doobie or Naden.
I’d be hitting Flanno up for a swap, Doobie or Naden for him?
Frizell is 32 at the moment, and no I don't think Williams is a better player as it stands right now, maybe in 2 years, who knows. Frizell whilst not my first choice is a proven enforcer, something everyone wants, someone who drives standards at training, something we really need, I can see some merit in it, much like Finucane did at Cronulla, lifted them back up to a top 4 teamI fail to see how a 34 year old Frizell would be a better option than someone currently off contract such as Jack Williams ?
Williams is ideally a better 13 than he is on an edge, but even if he plays on an edge he’s a lot better quality than Frizell or Bateman at this stage of their careers.
We are not getting a guy the Roosters want, we could drive up his price, although cap is no issue at BondiSo silly questino for this thread.

I like Frizell, always have, but would’ve preferred to sign him 5 years ago not now. It’s like Klemmer and countless others we have signed over the years, great players in their day, but past their best when they land here. They might have a great work ethic, leadership qualities and try really hard every game, but if we’re not getting the best out of them then what’s the point. Especially so in Frizell’s case if he would prefer to stay with Newcastle.Frizell would prefer to remain in Newcastle however I think he understands in order to play consistent football these next 2-3 years he’d probably have to go elsewhere with Lucas and Pearce-Paul’s rise.

Like I say, there's no trick to it: you have to find players who contribute more than they cost in salary cap. If a club is obviously desperate to offload a player (or, more accurately, a player's contract) it stands to reason that they're less likely to be a superstar. But maybe the desperation comes through in the club being prepared to carry enough freight to make the deal worthwhile.I’m more talking about the players that the clubs put at the front of their shop window. We’ve jumped on them in the past. There are more desirable players behind them that the clubs aren’t making as much noise about but are still open to letting them move on.
