How funny - Balmain directors calling others incompetent. This is a board that oversees nothing. No club, no senior team, a junior league that is funded by someone else plus no say whatsoever on what happens with their donated 10% of WT. Honestly it sounds like a Benny Hill skit.

So what's the holdup. Surely there has been ample time for recruitment by now. It feels like the HBG is still pulling the strings in the background. Even if these 4 directors are appointed, who has the power to remove and / or vote in a new director in the future.

The same people who removed the entire board at the end of last year. We’ve had independent directors before, we’re just supposed to be replacing the ones we already removed.

It’s clear now that Balmain aren’t the issue it’s the Magpies. I’m gonna be honest and say I was wrong about it but it’s now clear that the HBG are a bunch of self interested rats. It’s been reported that due to a change in directors the Holman Barnes Group want to reverse the suggestions made by the last review, including the reappointment of Barry O’Farrell. It’s also been reported that a high ranking official at the WESTS TIGERS NOT BALMAIN has went to the NRL with concerns about the HBG actions. Sickening.

Yea right - so who is this high ranking official. Chammas is full of it. The only person he actually names is Leo who has nothing to do with WT.

I think the only thing Wests Tigers supporters (not Wests or Balmain) should be worried about is the review not being implemented and the old HBG crew getting back together to stifle any recent/future progress. Just implement the review as approved.

This thread is about threats from certain Balmain officials about dissolving the JV and forcing the NRL to make a choice as to who keeps the licence.

As per the article,

The Wests Tigers have always had factions, changes to board members even control (Unfortunately due to the current but hopefully non permanent insolvency of the Balmain side) and also incompetence.

But we have always had unity....that was never questioned until now. Board changes and attempts to micromanage Board selections are trivial matters compared to this.

This is the most toxic event in the clubs history which will leave a sour taste for all our family of fans as evidenced on here by the many disgruntled former Balmain fans, newer Wests Tigers fans as well as as former Magpies fans.

Yes I agree Balmain certainly had troubles, hence the merger.

The problem is Richo isn't at the wheel. He's at the mercy of people with far less qualifications. How can these guys ask an ex NSW premier to reinterview? Who is going to interview him? Them? It's insulting.

I used to think it was Andreacchio who was part of the problem. But he wasn't. He stepped up.

I'll take it all back if I'm wrong. But the few moves we have seen so far is enough to start applying the blowtorch. We have a big year next year - hurry the bloody hell up Romero!!

The Footy department has to get by on a shoe-string budget while being the worst in the comp - and screw the fans while the Board is sipping chilled chablis!

I wouldn't bother following NRL at all. It's already a pretty unattractive product, and my interest has dwindled to only my team and SOO over the years, so if WT were gone, so would I be.
