Gary Leo threatening to leave the joint venture is like your homeless, alcoholic cousin who you've taken in in off the street and given refuge in your home's granny flat rent free threatening to leave.

It's about having the right people running the club who have the business acumen without emotional agendas.
The debate on here from fans shows exactly why independent directors are necessary.
One poke and all the paranoia about who is most worthy starts being trotted out.
Representatives from both sides have failed to take this club forward and fans turning on each other does nothing but encourage these idiots to think there is a possible future in nostalgia.
If the club is to ever be successful it can only move forward as Wests Tigers with smart people making the decisions.

Not a Balmain or Wests thing but lets get real. Wests haven't been able to run anything 'successfully' for the past 60 years and still can't.

Even with a huge leagues club, the Tigers brand and tonnes of juniors.

And it still seems the inner city mob still don't like Campbelltown.

Is it any coincidence the West Tigers demise started around the same time of HBG.

60 years eh? I think you might need to shorten your span a bit there. Wests were one of the strongest and wealthiest clubs for at least the first 15 years of those 60 years.

God that’s massively paraphrasing , bordering on confirmation bias . It’s not a magpies issue, it’s a wests Ashfield issue/ HBG.
If you want to reference everything back to the magpies be my guest .
The issue is the dum dums - literally according to others on here with working experience with these guys , running a club that should not be anywhere near where we are .
The people are the issue , not the organisations and legacy mascot that is on the company masthead .

You mean Collingwood ? It has nothing to do with the magpie , they could be called the dirty rats . It’s about what the pies represent ie. working class . People resonate with that like south’s in the nrl .
That’s a massive long bow . Wests magpies doesn’t and hasn’t ever resonated like that , despite all fibro/ silver tail nonsense .

I can only speak for myself but Tiger was my favourite animal hence I started supporting Tigers.

In most comps, a Tiger is a pretty big brand coz lots of kids gravitate towards supporting Tigers.

Balmain went successfully broke and Wests bailed them out, that's why Wests (HBG) run the show.

It's better than some. That's why Fitzgerald at Parramatta wanted to merge (take over) Balmain. They would have become the Parramatta Tigers. But to suggest it's iconic is a bit rich.

Thats 2 things, and a third one is the positioning or manoeuvring which indicates HBG won't keep their word regarding the implementation of the Crawford Barnier report.
The really sad part is that none of us would be surprised if Barry O'Farrell was forced out and replaced by Julie Romero.
