If you're making your mind up about where you want to play on the basis of one round of football, then you're best steering clear.

This club needs players who need a start or love an underdog story.

There's not much in between at the moment.

Well. Great question. Cause there is a lot of bullshit on this thread. People pulling names out of their arse. It makes sense. Fantasy. Anyway. Back on topic. People, come up with other names we can sign that would make your life complete. For one moment anyway.

Have a look at all the centres currently playing NSW Cup, Qld Cup or in the UK Super League, that’s all you can get for 250k and I can tell you Doueihi on his bad days is far better than the majority of them, plus he’s a handy goal kicker if required.
As I’ve said previously it’s no secret his defence has been terrible, but IF we have the depth to ensure he plays NSW Cup if his defence remains suspect, I’d say it’s the best and only way his defence is likely to improve.
Same scenario with Charlie Staines and Starford To’a, they all need to stop missing tackles otherwise they play NSW Cup and don’t get another contract with Wests Tigers. This could not be enforced this season with a severe lack of depth.

If he wants to purely run the ball then he moves to back row, and has to prove he can make 100m +30 tackles every week. Starting in Cup, if he performs consistently well in the back row in cup then he can get gametime on the bench in NRL.
If he plays in the backs then our season is over and our squad depth is atrocious.

We need to figure out how to win the ruck, particularly in defence. He should be nowhere near the forwards for this to happen.

He has been a slow learner to date.
Can't see him changing his defence for the whole game. Expect him to lapse into old habits. Unreliable solid defence somewhere in the 80min. Not worth the risk if we are aiming higher next year.
IMO he should play elsewhere, we need his top 30 spot.

You will not find any centres any better on 250k if you can name them ?
centre is probably the hardest position on the field to defend, not too many do it well.
We are likely to give first crack to Olam and Turuva as our centres in 2025 and nobody can honestly say they are highly confident in those 2 defending well as our centres either ?
Our only hope is a good pre season with a massive focus on defending to try and fiind 2 centres in our roster who can mostly get it right.

There is a possibility he's horrible lateral defence is to do with complications from the ACL given he had to miss a bunch of games post ACL. Usually they are better the following year. Benji needs have an honest chat with him and tell him centre is the only position he'll be considered for and he'll be starting in reserve grade to see if his defence is up to scratch.

His career is on the line and it's up to him to fix it, otherwise he won't be in anyones top 30 in 2026.

If he can't get a run somewhere else---------------Just pay him out. Not on a lot of $$$$$.
