LIVE GAME Finals week 1 discussion

Live Game Discussion
Go Brooksy!

Dogs and Penrith were the two best teams this weekend IMO.

Manly mentally too tough though and DCE made all the right plays at the right time to keep them in the game.

Kikau has to be MoM, he was the best player on the field this weekend for me.

Not sure how Manly won that game. The dogs played old fashion semi finals football. They hit hard and often and got under Manly’s nose.

The Dogs were also getting the fifty fifty calls. Manly just hung in there and when the crunch came, Manly’s class players lifted. Great game and I was happy with the result

Inevitably the rub of the green catches up. For some, it's during a particular game. For others, it's late in the season. For the dogs, it got them to the finals. They had a soft draw and the ref's were on their side for all of '24. The quality shines in the end. They have some ways to go.

Old Gussy would be fuming, JAC’s cards are marked now I would imagine.

As soon as Gus spoke to the media about JAC I said he is setting him up get sacked. They way he was wording things he was setting it up so JAC made him look bad therefore everyone would say he had no choice but to sack him.

The media are going mad saying how well Gus has handled it, but none of them see that he is setting it up to completely screw JAC (even though he deserves it), to free up cap space.

It wasn’t all the refs, the Doggies played some excellent footy this year and should be proud of their efforts.

The Dogs fairytale is now over. I'm hoping next year the Refs actually decide to referee them, combined with the natural human trait that you simply can't maintain that effort year to year, and this results in a wooden spoon.

Only one sin bin in the 4 games, and that came in the last two minutes of the Cowboys-Knights game. Bit of a joke that the standards suddenly change because it’s finals. Talau and Curran would have been binned today if it was a regular season game.

I agree. They played some great footy with a big emphasis on effort. They maintained that effort week in week out. We can only dream of having a group do that.

The refs allowing them to be offside all year certainly helps that effort though. Penalties when they should be penalised and I would guess they don't make the 8.

But they rolled the dice oand won. They played the officials for the weak minds they are.
