He absolutely sprayed their lesser known forward who dropped the ball with 90 secs left. Game was theirs. He’s gunna miss them two.
He needs to bring that attitude and not get it taken from him.

I don’t think he sprayed him, if he did, he’s an idiot. He absolutely sprayed their lesser known forward who dropped the ball with 90 secs left. Game was theirs.

That’s how saw it.I liked the little moment he had with Lindsay Smith with about 2 mins left when Smith dropped the ball as they were attacking the line. Smith, obviously down on himself, thinking he’d left the door open. And Luai got straight in his face, as if to say “snap out of it. We got this”
There was an article through the week about a similar incident from last week. It quoted three out of the four words Luia said to his teammate as swear words.I don’t think he sprayed him, if he did, he’s an idiot.
I think he fired him up to defend his mistake and Lindsay did.

I missed where he patted him on the head and said chin up.That was not a spray
Because he wasn’t consoling him, he was trying to rev him up. They were 2 mins away from a 4-peat.I missed where he patted him on the head and said chin up.
There’s a fine line between leadership and abuse. There was an article through the week about a similar incident from last week. It quoted three out of the four words Luia said to his teammate as swear words.
I obviously don’t know what he said to Smith but their standards are their standards and that’s why they win.
It was only a few weeks ago they stole a game from Parra. His head had not turned to celebration at that point in my opinion.Because he wasn’t consoling him, he was trying to rev him up. They were 2 mins away from a 4-peat.
It was a really lazy play on tackle one from Smith and I think Luai just reminded him the job wasn’t finished, in no uncertain terms. There’s a fine line between leadership and abuse.
Look, hand on heart, I really do not like Jarome Luai as a player. I think he is a jumped up wanker who blames everyone around him when things go wrong…very much like Moses who coincidently, I very much dislike as well.
I understand their standards are high and he helped build them, but at the end of the day, a spray is not required when you are leading with 2 minutes left in a GF.
If that’s what he did, I don’t think it was by the way, then he is a dickhead.
Alright, let’s put this into context. You’re talking about a guy who has won multiple premierships and won an origin series, where he was the one who turned the decider. Do you really think with two minutes to go, when they are up by 2 scores with the opposition coming off their own line that he would turn to water? If they were up 2 points I could see where maybe this might be a possibility, or if Smith dropped it coming off his own line. But the game was done. They weren’t going to go 100m and back again in less than 2 mins. And btw, i‘m not saying it was “hey man, forget it. We’ve already won. Let’s party”. It was a “Dude, chill. Forget about it. We’re almost there”.It was only a few weeks ago they stole a game from Parra. His head had not turned to celebration at that point in my opinion.
The comment you are looking for are in the game day thread,Can’t believe the lack of comment on what I thought was a very compelling game. Crowd seemed to come in and out of it as I don’t think today’s spectators like a low scoring struggle between 2 top teams.
Anyway, congrats Penrith, whichever way you look at it they are an amazing organisation. And Ivan becomes the current GOAT coach, something some of our bitter and twisted supporters will find hard to stomach.
I repeat what I’ve said many times before. It was an absolute tragedy we didn’t get the chance to have him build a dynasty here. And some kudos to Pascoe for getting him here in the first place.
Our current coach would be looking after a junior team if he were at Penrith, so I think it’s going to be up to Api and Rome to develop the team next year, and beyond.
We’re obviously just interpreting what we saw differently which is not an issue.Alright, let’s put this into context. That's a bit rich... I remember you saying you'd had enough and was 'outta here' after one loss late in the seasonYour attitude is the kind of guy Luai would call out.
A true Wests Tigers supporter you are not.
