Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Interesting that Richardson has issued Bateman an ultimatum, to get fully onboard or leave, I have been saying it for over a year, a very poor signing and his days were over after Canberra. Ricky Stuart is a smart operator, hence they were not keen to keep him. Get rid of him and open a spot for Fainu
I included him in my list of worst signings. He needs an attitude adjustment, he does more damage than anything else with his actions both on & seemingly off field. Pity, he could be a very handy player if he could keep his cool.

True,

Hodgo won't coach us an army of Hodgo's. I do see him imparting skills that he picked up as a player, but you are right Brett will run the training sessions that He/Benji/Morris develop.

He will see a stack in Bula's game and refine it.

Ultimately he is the wrong person to be running our training sessions. If we have to pick an old timer to do it (not saying we should), Liam Fulton. I reckon he could out-train everyone in our squad bar Api.
One of Hodgo's strengths was his back up play through the ruck. Todd Payten Lafranchi, Galea only had to get their arms free and he was there for the offload. If he can get Bula to do this more and not just rely on sweeping plays, Bula will add so much more to our attack.

Is this an example of the salary cap effect?

Warriors last week move on a vet a year early (most likely at full freight)
Following that resign a up and comer in Ali Lauitii
And now resign DWZ before Nov 1.
Maybe all 3 were manageable until retaining and upgrades were required to both Lauitii and DWZ..

DWZ signs bumper new Warriors deal after etching his name into the history books: Transfer Centre

Mate the warriors should have won 3 premierships by now . The nrl needs them to be a juggernaut , and the players you’re talking about are thier juniors . I have zero issues with a club keeping thier own juniors . I do however have real issues with clubs like Melbourne and the roosters who offer 14 year olds 75k to switch teams . Or thier parents happen to get a new car etc .

The damage done to our brand mainly amongst players is the worst part. You see players like Munster laugh when our club is mentioned to him as a destination. Api was cracking jokes about us before arriving. That is not a challenge Richo would have seen before.

The Luai signing gives me hope that could change at some point.

It probably equates to a 25-30% subsidy we’re forced to pay when signing talent.
It's not just the damage to the players, half the people on here laugh about this club and more often than not it can be justified, the place is not only a challenge for Richo, at least he gets paid to do what he is doing, which is more than the long suffering and challenged supporters get.

We have trouble signing players and I am really struggling when it comes to signing up for a membership which I allowed to lapse this last season after being a member for many years.
