Clearly they both haven’t performed the role that they were recruited for. They have hardly shown the youngsters how it should be done or impressed with their leadership. I’d say Benji has called them out more than once and they probably don’t like it. Maybe he’s pointed out that the juniors in the squad are playing with more heart than the senior players.
If this is the case then good on Benji and I think they deserve a kick up the backside.
I for one would be happy if Bateman doesn’t return and Klemmer can go to.

Just hoping bp that once we actually have some roster spots available we can move forward with a few of the blokes that we are trying to entice here.
I think most agree that we are short a few NRL quality forwards but have no room at this moment in our roster.
If Manly want Bateman then let him go in my view. He doesn’t seem to want to be here anyway.
Interesting how him and Hastings reportedly don’t get on - 2 peas in a pod it seems!

I understand that we are at 31 with Sione F - not 100% on that.
So we need to move at least 3 on to re-sign him and find a couple of forwards perhaps.
Bateman maybe one, you’d think Tumeth, maybe Matamua may have to be paid out if there’s no takers on the guys that are being shopped in the media. (Eg Bud, Klem, Naden, Staines).
I am quietly confident that Richo is a duck on water- nothing to see in plain sight but plenty going on under the surface.
Let’s hope so anyway!

I agree. I mean Bateman thanking fans in England for helping him enjoy the game again etc is a shot at our club. Richo had to come out and make a stand here IMO. I like this. Bateman will either pull his head in or leave. Either option is better than allowing him to bag the club publicly and not addressing this potential cancer.
 
Out of favour Tigers forward John Bateman has been linked to a move to Manly after falling out of favour with Benji Marshall.

“John Bateman is coming back to the Wests Tigers for all we know at the moment, but they don’t want him there it’s as simple as that!” said Aaron Woods on Triple M’s Rush Hour.
