Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Faagutu was perhaps the strongest junior we had with leg speed and legs built like tree trunks.

I wonder if there's a swap with the Broncs, Hetherington for Faagutu. Broncs save cap space and get a top young prospect who's more happy to in line and WT get an NRL ready player now..?

Something fishy here. Out of all the young forwards we have in the top 30, Fa'agutu would be the last player you'd pay out. Tumeth, Sukkar, Kit, Matamua and even Miller should have all been on the chopping block before him IMO.

I'm not saying he's going to be a superstar, but he's not lacking in talent.
All pathetic.

Why is everybody down on Sukkar before hes had a chance to prove himself in firstgrade he could possibly solve our backrow problem hes 105 kg and runns a good line and can tackle.
If we had time to bring Sukkar through there wouldn't be much complaining. There is a desperation to win quickly, requiring more experience than what we have. Already top heavy on ''players with potential'' in the squad.

I have hit the nail on the head , next year is so important to our club , because we need to be in that top 8, even just missing it , other wise we risk losing Galvin and maybe some others that we would want to keep ,

the boys on the excellent tigers Podcast West tigers Faithful were saying Chris Faagutu has been paid out and a roster spot has opened up...bit of a shame but if we can get either Hetherington or May it would be great.
I really hope us letting Chris Faagutu go doesnt back to bite us. I cannot believe we didnt give this guy a shot in the top grade .. his the ability and skills to be a really good back rower. :-(

Maybe we didn't let him go. Maybe he said he didn't want to commit to WT once his contract finished up. Or he could be homesick and wanting to return to QLD. Could be a bunch of reasons. If they're not in it for the long haul, no point keeping them around.

Seeing him play schoolboys, he was that player similar to Victor Radley, Cameron Murray, etc. leg power was one of his biggest assets and he knew how to use it. Which is why again I wonder if it was a case of our system not working or if it was something else
Yea , when I watched a junior game of his , he was powerful and had leg drive for days. Like I said though , that was against kids , maybe he hasn’t been hitting the metrics / the clubs opinion on his ceiling has shifted . Or simply it’s they think he will get a contract elsewhere , so we can shift him because we have Kit . It might just simply be the rate kit more than Faagatu . I mean they’re very similar .

What’s happened here, can you get the full article posted?

Sydney Roosters star Terrell May is preparing to launch legal action against online fan groups spreading ‘damaging’ rumours in the wake of the shock revelation that he is unwanted at the Bondi club.
This masthead understands that Terrell’s manager David Rawlings and his lawyers have issued three cease and desist notices to popular Facebook supporter groups in recent days.

May’s team is preparing to take further legal action against at least one of the NRL fan pages on social media.

May was sensationally tapped on the shoulder last week by the Roosters, telling the 25-year-old he is free to explore the open market about an immediate move away from Bondi just six months after he agreed to a two-year extension.

The shock development sent the rumour mill into overdrive, creating speculation that coach Trent Robinson’s willingness to offload May had to do with off-field issues rather than a desire to reshape his roster.

One rumour falsely implicated May’s teammate and his partner.

Rawlings told this masthead that May is prepared to hold online trolls to account.

“The business transactions of rugby league often end up in the public domain, and of course where there is limited information on hand it’s natural to speculate,” Rawlings said.

“However, when speculation becomes reputable and personally damaging – we won’t tolerate it.

In September an NRL player poll survey by News Corp Australia, in partnership with the RLPA, revealed around 14 per cent of players still face either racial or targeted abuse.

May is currently touring England with the Samoan side but is expected back in Australia on Wednesday. Rawlings and May will meet later this week to discuss his options on the open market.

May won’t be short of options in trying to find a new home with three Sydney clubs already reaching out to his manager to express interest in his service for 2025 and beyond.

Clubs like the Wests Tigers, Canterbury and St George Illawarra are among the clubs in the market for a middle forward.

Newcastle is shaping as an option for May if the Knights fail to lock-in forward Leo Thompson, who is one of the most sought after free agents on the market.

Because he is underwhelming.

People are, understandably, hopeful of acquiring or growing game-breaking talents and individuals who will drag us out of the mire. People want players that will overtly move the needle on our ladder position.

It's the same reason supporters roll their eyes at the prospect of signing a journeyman workhorse over an unproven, junior star (no-one specific).

It's an understandable sentiment and I'll admit, I'm not immune.

Josh Addo-Carr yes or no?
Likely no.

We don't have the roster spots. We don't need a winger at the moment and we have 2 players vying for Fullback.

Hey I may swap JAC for Skelton if the dogs have sellers regret. I say that because I reckon JAC would up Bula's game along with Turuva. But I don't see this happening and I would really want a stack of cash from the dogs, which I also don't see happening.

Broncos re-signed Willison & now Marty Taupau. Rumours of Hunt having a homecoming I think Hetherington to us seems a strong possibility.

Madge loves big forwards & I think Kobe falls off the rotation.
Yeah wondering the same thing. I don't know how many top 30 spots they have but maybe they needed to make room for Marty.

Madge wasn't a fan of Elijah Taylor and Kobe seems a similar style.
