I fail to see how anyone can argue Democrats are "pro-war", any more than Americans in general are OK to get into a conflict. The last 3 times America invaded another nation, the Republicans were in power (First Gulf War, Afghanistan, Second Gulf War). But Congress votes on war decisions anyway, it's not a President's sole discretion.

It's also quite silly to suggest that support for Ukraine and/or Israel constitutes a pro-war agenda. Those are conflicts not directly involving any Western personnel. By your reasoning then Albo, ScoMo, Keir Starmer, Rishi Sunak, BoJo, Macron, all of Eastern Europe are all also pro-war for supporting Ukraine and/or Israel - it's a bipartisan position in both the UK and Australia, and for most of Western Europe. Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon is really the only person of potential power threatening withdrawal from Ukraine, and Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon is a documented Putin supporter.

So you must explain to me how Harris is pro-war when Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon cosies up to Putin, the most recent world leader to invade another country (invading another country is also known as starting a war).

This is the disappointing result of these threads though isn’t it? Personally I think they’re both intelligent people with their own strong skill sets. 1980s Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon was considered, thoughtful and interesting. My concern is the type of politics he’s mainstreamed. The mocking of people with disabilities, the insinuation that everyone who disagrees with him is stupid or nasty.

Harris is by no means the perfect candidate although she’s surprised me with how strong her campaign has been. Regardless of her policies, she is clearly a smart well credentialed woman. Suggesting she’s not panders to the type of modern politics many find repulsive.

I've heard nothing from her lips to suggest she has anything more than 'average' intelligence. (Not that great intelligence is necessarily critical to be a good leader). But I just can't listen to her without wondering how the heck she got to where she is on her own merits.
Anyway, its all a sad joke anyway. Red, blue, conservative, liberal - they are all 'wings of the one bird'. Take away the window dressing, they all stand for the same thing - big government, as close to total control of people's lives as possible, limited free speech, 'top down' driven policy, etc etc. Cynical? There is simply no argument to logically or morally/ethically support Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon.

On a governance level he has next to no policies. His talking points are almost entirely made up of things he wants to do, without any plan (I believe he said at one point he "has the concepts of a plan"). He says laughable things like he's going to bring peace to the Middle East, for the first time in 3000 years. He's going to "end inflation", which is basically not possible, but he also plans to introduce huge tariffs, which are themselves inflationary.

The tariffs thing alone is ridiculous, like a Year 7 Economic project. Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon thinks that if he imposes huge tariffs on imports that Americans won't suffer, which is crazy talk, because in terms of imports it will either significantly increase prices for Americans and/or cause some imports to withdraw from the market due to costs. Domestically, huge import tariffs mean that some American companies might get a leg up, but less competition puts less pressure on domestic prices and the cost of manufacture and labour in the US is much higher than other countries. It's the same reason it becomes expensive to always buy Australian, because Aussie products are not cheap to produce. It ignores the plain fact that America does not have manufacturing expertise in all domains, i.e. there are things the US simply does not produce. Lastly, it ignores the high likelihood of counter-tariffs, whereby countries impose tariffs back onto American exports in retaliation.

Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon is going to round up and depot thousands or millions of immigrants? What a horrible witch hunt that will be, guaranteed they won't all be illegals. And what does Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon do with the children of these immigrants who are US citizens by birthright? You cannot deport a US citizen even if you plan to deport their parents. And the cost of "hunting down" and removing illegals, and where are you going to send them? You can't just post everyone over the border into Canada or Mexico. It's not a plan, it's just a wild idea.

Also by the way Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon claims not to be pro-war, but one of his policy platforms is to fund the American military to be the undisputed military might globally, which mandates a weapons race with China. I fail to understand in any way how someone is anti-war but pro-military. I'm not clear on the purpose of military if not for potential war.

All of this is not even yet mentioning the fact that Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon has already had a term in power and it was a catastrophe. It cannot be argued that he was a good President, given the million people who died during COVID under his leadership, he got impeached twice, he attempted to subvert the election and stoked a riot after he lost.

Anyway governance aside, you then have the moral and ethical issues. Not only is Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon an unfit governance candidate, as a human he's a deporable being. He's a proven and almost boastful adulterer, philanderer, liar, convicted felon and rapist. His thoughts are incoherent. His command of detail and international policy is laughable. He's not even a particularly successful businessman - he spent his Dad's money and 6 of his businesses have gone bankrupt.

Overall there is simply no argument that Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon is a better candidate. He is immoral and incapable. The only reason to vote Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon is because you want to set fire to the system and/or consider Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon as some sort of useful idiot who might bring your personal manifesto to power (e.g. Christian nationalism, white supremacism, weapons laws, abolition of regulations, tax cuts etc.)
