Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Actually I just looked up the 17 from their first stripped GF. Only 1 of the 17 didn't play Origin or for NZ at some point of their career. Not bad for a bunch of nobodies.
That other 1 bloke did date Miss Australia so he did pretty well for himself as well.
3rd place Miss Merewether Beach. Newton dumped her to “focus on footy”. She went on to become Miss Universe.

I’m not opposed to us trying to sign Terrell May, but if you break things down, what does he actually do that is any better than Alex Twal ?
Amongst some highly physical and aggressive forwards Twal’s reliability and workrate becomes very valuable.
Of course the Roosters will throw their hat in the ring to try and sign Leo Thompson, but with nearly every NRLclub lining up for his services, they nor any other club will get him for under his market value like they generally expect.

Jesus effing Christ 🤦‍♂️ just when I think you’ve hit the rock bottom, you get the drill out and keep going with your unbelievably stupid takes

If you honestly can’t see what May does better than Twal, then I suggest you follow another sport because you clearly don’t know shit about this one.

I don’t mind Terrell May either, but I think his stats are inflated by playing alongside some top quality team mates, not so sure he’d be as effective if playing for Wests Tigers.
He was largely ineffective playing for Samoa, that’s a concern.
That's gunna be the case for every new recruit.... It's where the coaching needs to lift it's game as well

He'd be kicking himself. Clint actually dated my sister for a while too. Jen dated a mate. All a bit connected in Newy.

How so ?
Neither of them is overly big or fast.
Neither of them carry the ball aggressively enough to steamroll opposing defenders.
Neither of them demonstrate much footwork.
Neither of them hit hard in defence.
However both are very hard workers who you can rely on to make their metres, make their tackles and do the hard work that often goes unnoticed.
I suggest you take a look at his profile on the Rooster site and compare... especially the post contact metres.
PS I'm a fan of Twal.

It's either that or get a job concreting.

Time for these types to wake up to themselves.
To do what - follow your advice on how they should lead his life ? Rugby league is only a game and not a very important one in the scheme of things. If he wants to play football or doesn't want to play football is his choice and I guess he doesn't get to comment on your life choices.

That’s true, but once we give him a multi year contract he becomes our problem along with Bateman, Naden, Sullivan etc.

Don’t know either of the guys personally but Hetherington seems to have less talent but more of the effort type player we’re after.

Nothing in the world worse than wasted talent...

Got a great opportunity to set himself up for life, get paid well to play a sport. A lot harder ways to make money.

You're right though.
It's his life.
All the best to him.

Effort should be our number one criteria when recruiting or elevating juiors.
If you dont bust your arse and keep getting up and back in line, you are no good to us.
