If the club wanted to sign Sione Fainu & needed the roster space, but the club can't move any of the Top 30 players & didn't want to lose some of the talented younger guys...

Couldn't they, in theory, re-negotiate a contract with say Saukuru, who isn't likely to see 1st grade this season, re-sign him to a T&T deal with a move to Top 30 for 2026 & a pay increase for helping the club out?

I'd argue that we of all clubs we've probably recruited the best.... Difficult to gauge cause all ubs requirements and need are different

We'll done Richo Benji and Romey... Good signing.. Hope he stays outta trouble and becomes a leader... We need these guys from Penrith and the Roosters to make sure we raise the bar to their old clubs level.... Or as close as possible to it

I sound like a broken record, but of all our recruitment, 95% of us agree these are good signings.

Even Bird seeing as we got him at a low value.

This is a big change from the Jordan Rankin days.

Honestly i hope we find a spot for Sione, two fold keep the brothers together and i thought he earned an extension with his efforts last season.

Wouldn't underestimate the role of the Benji ethos in this recruitment either. His laid back "there's more to football" approach would have been chalk and cheese to Flanno's pitch.

Now that we have a big minute middle it is time for some deck chairs to be overturned. Sione doesn't have a chair to sit on yet and we could do with another quality edge player before the season starts. I trust Richo has a couple earmarked to throw overboard if someone else wants to board the ship.

I'm not enamoured with paying Bateman to play elsewhere. I think he could still be part of the mix and having him fight for a position would be good for the club and both the FG and Cup teams. I would prefer to pay out some low value short term contracts for players not likely to push for FG to sign Sione plus another experienced FG forward.

Here's hoping that the "Members First" email arrives shortly announcing some movement on that front.
