Yeah though I got excited when I saw John Bateman breach notices in the headline lolThe newspapers should have to pay us sponsorship for the amount of useless stories they write on us.

Defensively probably the best 2 options although Olam can be hit and miss at times. I have had Bird at centre all along until Makasini is ready to step up. At that time Bird could move in to the 14 role which would give him a bit more longevity. Time will tell i guess.Yep, and Doueihi wont be able to lift. Its a stupid cause trying to fit him in.
Olam and Bird will be the centres for round one surely.
Well, if #13 is the go- that means Staines, Laulili'i, Doueihi & To'a are in play..DT Sports Con

BIRD ANSWERS BIG QUESTION
Star recruit Jack Bird has solved one of the Wests Tigers’ pre-season conundrums - where he has been earmarked to play next season.
Sport Con can reveal that Bird and coach Benji Marshall have spoken about him wearing the No.13 jersey and playing in the middle of the field as part of the revamped Tigers outfit.
“I have been training at 13 a little bit,” Bird said.
“That’s really up to Benji and the coaching staff but I think the chats I have had with Benj, he wants me to play at 13 and just try to get used to that role again.
“I played there at the Dragons a few years back but it has been a while since I played in the middle.

“That is the idea of me trying to get fit and get the lungs back to play at the capacity Benji wants me to play at.
“Obviously training and game speed are a lot different but I have been training well I think. The plan is to play at 13.”
Bird is among a slew of signings that have raised optimism at the Tigers as they prepare to end their three-year streak of wooden spoons.
The 29-year-old has returned to preseason in good shape with a point to prove after being let go by the Dragons with one year remaining on his deal.

I’m excited to see Turuva and Olam in the centres creasing opponents and Bird playing a variety of roles, mainly in the forwards. Hopefully his body can hold up.It's amazing how so many were convinced Bird will play centre even though it was pointed out numerous times Turuva signed to play right centre and Bird straight after signing on, stated he wanted to play lock. A clear indication of the discussions he had before signing. I bet even this article will go straight over some people's heads and we will see some classic "your mad if you think Bird will play in the middle", "no way Turuva plays centre" etc etc.
I swear people just take in whatever suits their opinion and block everything else out.

So that is confirmed? Turuva & Olam first of the rack? Our official starting centres?I’m excited to see Turuva and Olam in the centres creasing opponents and Bird playing a variety of roles, mainly in the forwards. Hopefully his body can hold up.
Not

Olam will probably miss the start of the season if that’s serious question, can never tell with you.So that is confirmed? Turuva & Olam first of the rack? Our official starting centres?

I have no intel, two knees normally takes time, I’d imagine they’ll be cautious.Richo was saying Olam is back training now … he has another three months to get right … they have been tight lipped about the type of surgery … but if he is training now you think he will be right by March …?

I have no confidence that even if Olam is fit he’ll stay fit. I’d be very surprised if Bird’s body can handle the middle.
Idk. He really feels no different to to most other players we have signed that have been over the hill and beat up, who we got very little output from.makes you wonder why they signed him then (Bird)
