I think May is need more in the front row. Without him there our pack looks pretty weak and out of balance.Don't discount Terrell May at lock with Klemmer/Hunt starting props rotating with Pole/Twal. He's got the ball skills & endurance. Would rather this than Pole or Twal at lock.
We could consider a May / Pole starting front row with Hunt / Klemmer rotating and Twal as the any position forward.I think May is need more in the front row. Without him there our pack looks pretty weak and out of balance.
Exactly why it’ll probably be Hunt. He’s even said that’s the position he’s shooting for.I think if we don’t get a lock , it will really hurt our pack , yes there is a few who could cover it but we need a experienced loc in
If one were to emerge from within it would have to be Matamua. I'm not confident he will ever be up to it though. I think our next long term lock isn't in our system yet.So I revived this thread because I want to know who everyone considers to be our long term lock?
Totally agree with your first word.... so succinct...If Bird starts at lock, I’d like to see Sione Fainu (and/or Johannssen) on the bench to cover/share the lock role. Johannssen and Sione Fainu both have enough link playing attributes to their games.
If a half, centre or 2nd rower gets injured Bird could move to one of those positions during the game and Johannssen or Sione Fainu could go to lock.
I'm amazed by all the lack of faith in Matamua in this forum. He is a forward young enough to still be playing Jersey Flegg last year - if he was just playing in flegg everyone would be raving about his potential. Their are not nrl forwards starring at his age they take time to develop - Suia Wong from the Roosters at the same age for exampleIf one were to emerge from within it would have to be Matamua. You said all. You wrote for us all. Speak for yourself. You are not a prime minister. That's how Obama talked. Look at the result. We appreciate authenticity. You do you.Huh - I didn't speak for anyone, I didn't claim to be good or to be out of touch - no idea what your on about

bird at 13 probably only gets him through 12 to 15 gamesBird to start for mine. Has the attributes to ball play, or take a tough carry. More importantly he will be a dominant voice in defence which I feel we haven't had in the middle. If his body holds up he will do a job for us there until we upgrade.
