Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

So, if the club won't leak contract negotiations, is Galvin's manager leaking this? Or it someone just guessing at shit?
My guess is this one is from the club although Moses manages both players but that means it's made clear that Moses is better off Bateman moving on as he will still get the % of that same Tigers money through Galvin so the less the Tigers pay to Bateman the more Moses makes overall

I live in the area (20km N/E of Taree) I avoid the Taree Service Centre like the plague 😂.
I'd rather walk in to the old Airds Pub or go for a jog in Claymore (used to live in Bradbury) than go anywhere near the Taree Service Centre.

I don't even take the Taree exit, especially after dark. I'd rather take the Cundletown or Coopernook exits, they are closer to my joint anyways.
Sounds like you must be near Harrington.

I feel he makes a mess of clubs, though. All good to get your player the best deal, but clubs at the pointy end of the table have well balanced rosters.

Would be interesting to have a bit of a timeline of which clubs Isaac has sunk his teeth deep into through managing the coach or controlling a high percentage of the players and see whether any of those teams ever got close to a premiership.
Only thinking of this.

The RLPA are just as accountable giving the players help when they want to leave but also help when they want to stay. Can't have it both ways.

Manly are screwed with all the Moses clients there.

Won't win a premiership when a player manages controls all the pieces.

The fact the NRL still hasn't done anything about this is a joke. Not that difficult.

1. Can't sign with another club until 6 months before the end of contract.
2. Players cannot make more money on a contract if they leave early. Has to be equal or less.
3. Players managers get no payments at all for any early releases. The current contract abides for the whole time and only after it expires can they get a cut.

Players managers and the RLPA are most filling thier own back pockets. Directly and indirectly.

Just another thing on the Luai clause. It would be one thing if the clause was he had the option to activate the remaining 3 years after 2026, and it’s done. But it seems like it’s a year by year thing. So he could leave anytime, even if it’s in the middle of the season. I doubt it would come to that, but that’s how it comes across to me.

From memory there are a few clubs stacked with moses client's, a few clubs that refused to deal with him before he was slapped with a feather.Any club giving to much control over their roster to1 manager is a mug, backlash. maybe said manager /s may direct their players away from a club?. Beneficial is players off contract get directed to a certain club,if that club can stagger the contracts renewals win win? ,if not its fraught with danger. Black mailed ,hijacked call it what you will. Like your passion on there being more control on the manager's.Would a 1 of fee from a top lawyer not be cheaper. Mum Dad ,player, partner having access to the Nrl clubs bidding on players/last right of refusal thing thing, negate managers n save players $$$,fk my finger hurt;s ,lol. The RLPA perform the function of making sure the players aren;t stood over by the clubs and to keep the ba%turds honest

No, that's not how player options work. The player will have until a specific date/round in which they can opt out for the next season. Generally it is Round 10 by the season before.

So for example, if Luai played the 2025 and 2026 wanted to opt out for the 2027 season, he would have from the start of the season until round 10 of the 2026 season to formally opt out for the 2027 season and beyond. Once round 10 of the 2026 season passes, he can no longer opt out for the 2027 season.

Your at peace with yourself now, because the club didn't let you know earlier?

Actually that’s an interesting angle. In this instance it might work in our favour with Moses having both players in his stable and help get a Bateman move done. Any money saved can then form part of Moses’s commission if we extend and upgrade Galvin. So Moses might not be as red hot to screw the Tigers on paying more of Batemans salary elsewhere as it might lower his next commission.

This is all assuming he is happy for his client Galvin to extend with us and not angling for him to end up elsewhere.

But he can opt out of an upcoming season. So if he stays in 27, he can still opt out of 28 if he wants.
