Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Yep. Young kids can get broken. Also old guys get broken.

Should we make the game from 21 to 28 only? You and Tuck have the answers. Not me. I'll let you guys discuss. Keep me out of it. I just ask questions.

You guys know best.
Fingers crossed, centres this season will be Olam and May, with T'oa, Fataape and AD backing up. Risking a kid isn't going to come at any great benefit. 2026, he's still only 18, still young for an NRL debut.

You bring kids in that young, it can break them. They aren’t all Galvin’s. He’s 17. Talk of him debuting in 25 is nuts.
Kit and Luke Laulili'i, Feledy, Da Silva, Galvin, Latu, Miller and Mason have all debuted in the last 18 months at 18 or just 19.

If he debuts in late 2025, he'll be fine and will be better for the taste.

There is nothing 'nuts' about it.

It is when he doesn’t turn 18 for another 8 months. Not sure why it’s at the forefront.

Like I said before. You and GNR know best. We are all still learning. Watching how it's done. Doing our apprenticeship if you will.
I dont know why you are getting all pissy. You asked a question and I answered it how I see things.
Stand up like a man and form your own opinions.

Just teasing you mate. No pissyness on this end. Quick to bite...that's why I like you. Spicy like Ogalo.

That’s the great thing about people making suggestions. The rest of us can respond.
But actually....no one made any suggestions. It was a question on whether he is likely to see first grade this year based on how the club view his development. No one is putting Makasini in their run on teams. Have you seen it? I haven't. Or are you looking for things to disagree with?

Same universe in which they hired Matt Lodge, Michael Jennings and Big Pappy Napa.
Don't tell me you're one of those suckers that believe all the Roosters "culture" palava.
I’m one of those who thinks they aim a bit higher than sub par first graders like Brent Nadan. He isn’t even on the radar to make our 17. Why would he be on the Roosters?

I read that the Roosters only have 23-25 players (cannot confirm) signed to their top 30 squad for next season. When you consider they have two key players, Walker and Smith, out until mid-season, they will likely need some seasoned players to fill their top 30.

I could see them as an ideal destination for players like Douehi and Naden on one-year contracts, offering a better chance to secure a first-grade gig. 🤞
I think Sullivan to the Roosters on a 1 year loan at a subsidised rate works for both clubs.

Happy to bring kids into a winning side, so for me it's all contextual.
Probably the best take on this topic. We have been guilty of playing too many kids in the same team and that's not good for anyone. Sprinkling a couple of talented kids in if the rest of the team is shouldering their responsibility should be ok.

Physically they need to be ready, otherwise as has been mentioned, it can do more harm than good. You don't want them spending their development years recovering from major surgeries and nursing injuries into their 20s.

My belief is the good ones will be good no matter what. Tedesco, Folau, Suaalii etc. Are examples.

Teams are much better at pulling them out if they are struggling.

They need game time to develop. In a way it's a catch 22, but you can't mitigate all risk.
