Wooden Spoon 2025 ?

I actually think it might be the roosters . All of a sudden that team looks not that impressive . Especially in the spine .
And I know they pumped us , but they weren’t exactly the benchmark team with an all stars roster anyway .
There’s a lot of strike missing , and I think JWH will be an absolutely underrated loss . People are talking about it , but not in the way they probably should be .

Hopefully Terrel will prove to be their greatest loss and push WT above them.

Yea,

Although not their spine. They are getting Chad Townsend which should compliment Sam Walker very well. Teddy + Walker + Townsend + Smith isn't a bad spine combo.

But look.
Kahu Capper (New Zealand Warriors), Michael Jennings (retired), Luke Keary (Catalans Dragons), Joseph Manu (rugby union), Terrell May (Wests Tigers), Lewis Murphy (St Helens Saints), Dylan Napa (retired), Joseph-Aukuso Sua'ali'i (rugby union), Sitili Tupouniua (Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs), Jared Waerea-Hargreaves (Hull Kingston Rovers)

Manu, Sualili, Tupouniua, JWH.

They have lost a lot of backs and a lot of Center striking power. If Spencer Leniu or Lindsay Collins become unavailable I strongly suspect the spoon for them.

I tend to agree, but there is nothing I would like more than to see "The Pride of the League" come last, especially if Latrine plays a big part in derailing their season. 🤣

I can only dream. 😴
Nah, Penrith!

Just to watch all those Gamblers scream "faark, I lost my rent money!"

Souths will be in the top 6, now that Rusty has promised to be less involved emotionally and they have the coach, the man, the legend.
My predictions were reasonably accurate for 24 so I don’t want to spoil my record by going off too early.

Walker is out half the year bro … their spine will be Watson , Townsend and Sandon smith for a very long time .

Still better than a lot of bottom teams.
Walker, Townsend and Smith are decent.

Add Tedesco and it's not looking bad for Easts... Spine wise. Sure walker or someone is missing for a bit.

The gaps are Centers. Loosign Sualili and Joey Manu will be huge for them and what they bring will be missed. Can only hope they make the Spoon.

They’ve still got two very talented centres in Rob Toia & Billy Smith. Both these lads however are chronically injury prone.

True, but not the same.
Sualili and Joey Manu
I mean Joey was offered 1.2M a season to join Saints. Sualili is seen as the next GI or something (good but not that good IMHO).

Your right. Easts will find someone who will play Center and worse case Conner Watson will go there.
But a few injuries would send them to the spoon.

Yes. Right. The spoon. Few injuries. Roosters. Got it. Crazy Cat. You are.

They’ll finish a long way off the spoon.
But I agree, Joey Manu especially, is irreplaceable

They've got that rugby convert Nawanqatawese for a centre spot. I don't really know anything about him but he looked decent the one match I saw him play back end of last year. Should only get better with a league preseason and few games experience.

They've still got a very good pack. Collins, Leinu, Crichton, Butcher, Watson the key players. Whyte, Wong, E. Butcher provide better depth than most.

Moriarty isn't the worst hooker either. Won't stand out but won't look out of place in first grade.

Might struggle to make the 8 but can't see a spoon for them.

Moriarty is a Terrigal lad - good kid, always dings his Opal 👍
