Taking a wrecking ball to the club! (Recent Media Reports)

mate I’m on the Magpies side of the merger. I play reserve grade, albeit not very well, in the Macarthur comp. I grew up on the hill at Campbelltown. I have mates who work at the club and have family who played in the lower grades for Wests.

I was simply trying to show solidarity with those who were historically Balmain. no true Wests Tigers fan wants to see the return of the Magpies or the Balmain Tigers. we’re one club.

apologies if you saw it as divisive, it was the last thing I was trying to do.
That's how I read it too mate, was hoping you'd come on and correct it after some fools ran away with their interpretation of if.

Solidarity with you too mate.

Mate you guys went off about a dream that a Wiggle had and a Balmain board director with no power threatening the future of JV.
Burgess and Romero are a faction within the board with controlling power and a divisive accusations from other Wests Board members have become public knowledge that point directly at him and now you want to be dismissive.
Cmon I get your allegiance to the Magpies and even understand it but this has got head in the sand written all over it.

If Burgess didn't refute that, he'd have no option to resign.

I've seen nothing but passion from him for the WT as he showed previously for the magpies.

More scuttlebutt from Shane and co re board appointments.

Was the media release adequate?

No worries.. as I said I enjoy your posts but probably joined the convo cold and misinterpreted it 👌

It seemed like it maybe it was @Lestronge . Were the deleted by the moderators?

For a while it seemed like,e you and others were worried.

The posts weren't good.

And the anti Magpies (within the JV) vitriol even worse, toxic at levels much worse when similar scuttlebutt emerged from Balmain.
I did make a comment that I don't think any Wests Tigers fan can defend the behaviour of the HBG and that I expected a couple of people to come here and try. But I wasn't referring to you when I made that post.

I have always found you to be fairly reasonable despite us often being on the opposite side of this discussion.

I am still concerned about this situation and will be until the recommendations are fully implemented.

Come on mate. If HBG are taking richo as recommending Barry to continue (not appointment!) as chair in how you say, then they are mentally weaker than i thought. All he wants is the best for the club and a change in chair would set us back. Its not blooming rocket science!!!

.. and how would barry also select the independants? He's a single chair. That would be a board vote.

Weak reply.

You know that the Balmain scuttlebutt started simultaneously at the time Shane pushed for Barry's confirmation........Danny's leaked email etc. It was a way to play one side off against the other.

And similar now.

It's all about board appointments.

Can't have Shane or Barry appointing the independents.

It's the whole issue.

It’s great to see that 99.99% of our fan base are united.

Seriously you think this blowup within the board and their finger pointing power struggle is a plan by Shane Richardson's doing?? Those blinkers are firmly attached.
I would hazard a guess that most people refute damaging untruths labelled against them it appears D Burgess at this point is content to let it slide behind a veiled letter.
I will look forward to his response if and when it comes.

Well,

HBG have come out with a statement that it's BS.

They can't walk that back.

Besides, the 10 year licence is confirmed as Wests tigers.

What are you worrying about.?

Correction,

Replying to far too many posts.

Meant to say Barry......as he dealt with HBG during his previous tenure as well as dual HBG WT directors.

Was only meant to highlight there are complexities regarding the procurement of directors.......hence the delays.
Sure, there are certain complexities to work through. No doubt about that.

But at the same time, if a board was truly committed to enacting the review in full there would be far more swift progress on the tasks marked highly urgent. It doesn't take a year to complete a recruitment process. And i have no doubt there's no shortage of women who would do a great job on the board. Are they scared by the crap going on at HBG? Quite probably. Having to work with incompetent donkeys would probably scare away many of the potential candidates regardless of gender.

HBG have been a laughing stock for years. And they keep digging themselves further into their own hole. If they truly want what's best for Wests Tigers, for HBG, for the leagues clubs they would update the management structure and remove this prehistoric debenture arrangement. May the best leaders serve the people, and if their performance isn't up to scratch may they be replaced by someone more suitable! Accountability, it's a key ingredient in any successful business! HBG has none. WT have had none for a long time. Richo, Barry and Romey might change this.
